All I know is Alabama is sitting in the perfect “trap game” position. Nearly everyone who is following SEC women’s basketball has been looking past them to the SC game for the past couple of weeks, and it makes me cringe to know that.

I know Tennessee SHOULD beat Alabama fairly easily, even at Tuscaloosa, but crazier things (The Aubacle) have happened.

I guarantee you Curry has been constantly reminding her team that they’ve twice beaten Auburn, and Tennessee got clobbered by them. Also, Bama only lost by a handful of points to Georgia, Miss St. and Kentucky, and within 8 to Florida.

I don’t know if I’ll ever sleep on Alabama again after they managed to beat Tennessee five times in a row not long ago. And I sure hope the team is 100% mentally ready to take on ALABAMA, not SC, on Thursday.

Any road game left will be a tough game. We haven't been very good on the road in the last couple of weeks. I still think a lot to do with that was playing 7 on the road out of nine games. Going into Auburn we had already been on the road for games over a week then we played consecutive road games going all the way to Connecticut for the final of 7 of 9 road tests. That is a lot of traveling and I could definitely see it in our play defensively and offensively. I hope Kellie avoids that kind of schedule in the future way to much travel in the middle of the season. After 11 days at home I am hoping we'll have the road energy back that we had early in the season. This win means something extra as it makes us one of the top four conference teams and the double bye with this win Thursday. The way to win is like we always win dominate the offensive boards and defend the perimeter. They don't have much of an inside game they do have a few players that can make the three. I think we cover them like we covered Missouri and let Key control the paint we will win.

From the game notes:

Alabama is led by the trio of Brittany Davis (16.0 ppg., 7.0 rpg.), Megan Abrams (12.8 ppg.) and JaMya Mingo-Young (11.7 ppg., 6.3 rpg.). The Crimson Tide squad has three players with 30 or more three-pointers made, including Davis (54), Hannah Barber (48) and Abrams (30). Alabama dropped three SEC games by four or fewer points, including its latest loss on Sunday to Kentucky, 67-63, and previous losses to Georgia and Mississippi State.

I don`t see this as a trap game and i`m sure many feel the same way. Alabama is not a very good team they are like Vandy unwatchable, They have lost 9 of there last 12 games. We can agree to disagree.

Of course, anytime the LVs (or any team really) play a lower ranked opponent, it becomes a "trap" game because the potential for an upset always exists. Bama has a backcourt that can apply some pressure but the LVs are now figuring out how to better manage that challenge. So, I am sticking with my 101 to 3 prediction. [Cue a particular anti-fan who will complain about Kellie's recruiting failures since the margin of victory was under 100].

Will Mickey be back behind the mic Thursday night? I especially enjoy his call when we have a dominant lead and he has time to dryly editorialize.

Can’t watch so I’ll have to follow it here. I’ll read:
Refs are against us
Horston will never learn to take care of the ball
Rae back to her sloppy freshman days
Kellie not calling enough time outs or not calling them at the right time

Is there anyone here with coaching/playing experience who can keep us updated on the offenses and defenses teams are running, and adjustments during games? Sort of like an in-house coach?

NBB's quixotic request does point out an irony, that while broadcasting bandwidth has produced more games being shown, it's at a lower level of elucidation.

I think many of us would love to understand at a deeper level what is happening within the game, and how it has evolved since we were players.

But maybe not enough of us, and certainly not enough from that highly prized demographic who parts with their money and personal data quickly and impulsively. I guess for the powers-that-be we're too wise to waste time on making smarter.
