Game Thread: (16/19) Lady Vols at (6/5) Texas A&M

We need to win two or three more games this season to get maybe a six seed in the tourney. Looks like that four seed has sailed unless we win out which probably won't happen. I think we should be capable of winning the last two. The three coming up at Miss St. Vs SC, and at Ga is where we need at least one win.

...that a rough schedule to finish. The problem is the bracketologists aren't necessarily viewing it from the challenge presented perspective. It's all about the record.

Moral victories don't get you anything but a loss. Not sure what Kelly has to lose to try other players at pg. Horston is last one you want to play point. Do not understand that thinking at all. She is a 2 guard.
How many players do you see playing the 2 that can't shoot? She either plays pg, or she is on the bench.

Really, something has to give there. Would like to see her put that floater to bed. It’s not a good shot for her. Needs to learn from her teammates. Both Rae and Rennia do a great job pulling up for the 5’ jumper. Two hands, elevate, put it in. Horston can do the same. She’s wide open, just needs to take her time.

Yes, agreed! That floater and those one-arm lay-ups need to go. Many of her shot attempts seem to be one-handed and off balance. She has the athleticism to elevate over defenders for a pull-up J. At her size she could post up, too.

Really dropping from a 4 to 5 or even 6 really means nothing this year. It’s not like being 4 would mean home court advantage. Only a 1 or 2 really gains an advantage this year. A higher seed after that just means color of jersey. 🤷‍♂️

And we wonder why we don't get/keep recruits, it's like every season we find a player to tear down. I get it Horston is struggling offensively but she is still doing the little things, never mind that she is a sophomore playing one of the toughest positions during a pandemic. We have a tendency to look at other teams and what they are doing and want our players to do the same. Everyone progresses differently. She will turn the corner, the Talent is there. Many were saying the same about Rae and look at her now. Sometimes it takes time.

She’s going to break through at some point. Only a matter of time.

Not sure what a "pandemic" if that's what you want to call it has to do with anything . She needs to develop a realiable shot!

Really , she should transfer next year and go to a team
where she can excel in her true position.
Tennessee is known for playing players out of position
which does f for the player or the school.
Play her at the position you recruited her at.
