Game Thread: (5/6) Lady Vols 63 - (13/13) Georgia 55

It's always good when the team handles adversity (officiating/physicality/home floor) and comes out with a win. Every fan should celebrate a win like this. 5 years ago we would have lost....maybe blown out. This team has chemistry and toughness and that is something we've not seen, with this consistency, in many years.

5 years ago?!? We lost this game TWICE last year 😂

Tremendous improvements by both players AND staff !

Actually I turned the game off when Key went to the bench after that foul when she ran down court with her head down and ran over the GA guard. There was an immediate time out and GA ball. Coming out of the timeout they ran a play for Staiti to shoot a 3. I knew right then it was a Lady Vol victory and there were other games to watch.

I love this team because they never give up and they never give in. They are scary good. I was proud to see Saunders come in and hold her own. To those of you who thought this team would be MoState at Tennessee, you need to rethink your position. KJH has the ladies rolling.

Tess in Covid protocol I had a feeling she might not be vaccinated 🤔
No correlation… I’m vaccinated and boosted and had covid.. as you can see from today not having her out there decreases our 3pt shooting and doesn’t open the floor for us meaning other players aren’t as affective either.

Trying to watch the game back but it’s just as frustrating to watch the second time. So many of our miscues were just out and out fouls. Plus about 5 phantom travel calls in the first half.

Barker ended with 4 fouls but two of those were in the closing seconds to stop the clock. She should have fouled out in the first quarter. She had at least 4 fouls in the first 5 minutes.

I see no reason the officials should just let crap like that go because a player isn’t athletic enough to compete at this level. She plays with an edge but she simply does not have it at an SEC level. Not a single player on our roster she can guard without fouling.

I was just watching it again myself. It helps to keep saying to yourself things like, “Well, THAT bull-crap just happened and we STILL managed to win!” And then, “Dammit! They kept TRYING to steal this game from us, but we didn’t allow it!!!” And, “At this point UGA Nation thought we were down, but they don’t know how tough this Lady Vol team really is!!”

Over and over and over. lol
