So foul as they shoot… they make 2-3 FTs. That’s not even a consideration. We fouled right before but that was with more time.

The fan base have to be realistic, it was a lucky shot that just happened to go for a player who has never made a three. Sometimes things like that happens. I can't blame the Ladies or the coaches for that shot. Let’s look at the positives, this team never gave up even when they were over 21 points behind they refused to give in. I just want them to play every game at this level. Well done Lady Vols.

Up 2 with one second to go it doesn’t matter who it is or where. If they are in range you better be guarding them beyond the line.

... and when you have a foul to give? There is no excuse for that. You foul the player who catches the inbounds pass before they can get in the act of shooting and that takes at least another .5 seconds off the clock. Of course, before you can do that, you actually have to be guarding each opposing player closely. We weren't.

When the head coach has no defensive set for an inbounds play and leaves a player wide open from the 3pt line with 3 seconds on the clock they deserve to lose.

Well, the players did not deserve to lose, but the coaching staff sure set them up for it...doggone shame...smh

Do not think Powell lost the game , it took the full 40 minutes to lose. Even if the refs gave 2 at the end of 3 that did not beat us. Getting ready to watch now. 40% shooting is probably what beat us

It should never been left to luck. That’s why the criticism. Why do baseball/softball coaches opt to not pitch to home-run hitters in certain situations? It’s all about chance/luck.

Thank you to Rickea Jackson for being the most recent Lady Vol to carry the program for a hapless coach. Coming on 12 years of this now, long list of extremely talented women who will never really get their due because they played for Holly and Kellie who couldn’t get them to a national stage. (Other than being embarrassed on national TV over and over)

Sure it was a lucky shot, no doubt, but you cannot allow your team to suffer a lost like that, because of poor defense...You need to guard the the inbound pass, stay with your man or foul if you have to...they still had one to give...You need to compete with effort not hope...LVFL

Can someone tell me why they are a lock for the tournament?

NET rating, strength of schedule, strength of conference (and finishing tied-4th in it), # of top 50 wins, # of top 100 wins, having our best player out for 4 of our losses, performance down the stretch (5-5, but 3 of those to the #1 team losing by an average of 6.7 points). Our resume is for sure good enough for at least an 8-seed, maybe a 7-seed. It will be close, IMO. A win today would've surely secured at least a 7 if not a 6-seed.
