Game Thread: (7/9) Lady Vols 63 - (3/3) Stanford 74

Yea it was a disappointing loss but one that I think the team can build on and around. TK with her fouls but also understanding how important she is to the teams success. Looking at how much more effective they are with her on the court.

Horston just is all around a special player that is continuing to put it together. When her shot falls or her pass connects she looks like a star. When it doesn’t she looks like she’s rushing and I liked her composure through most of the game.

DYE. Is a baller.

Puckett and Miles made a couple of mistakes but overall were great. I really like these freshmen.

Walker was good.

That second quarter did us in.

Fans experienced a treat for one half but were let down in the end.

I'd like to see If Wynn and Striplin can play well enough to get in the rotation. Evidently not yet, but would like to see them in the next two games.

Yes she did our defense was awful all game other than quarter three.

I'd like to see If Wynn and Striplin can play well enough to get in the rotation. Evidently not yet, but would like to see them in the next two games.

Me as well. Wynn’s athleticism and speed is ridiculous and if she can begin to put some minutes in, she could do damage in the court both offensively and defensively. Striplin offensively looks good I think some minutes where she can play through mistakes would her understand defensive angles etc.

This might sound crazy, but I think we can beat Stanford if Key stays out of foul trouble and Burrell can play. Dye and Horston go 12 for 37 from the field. We miss 13 free throws. Just play a little better because they played really well made 9 threes and 22 free throws. They can't play a whole lot better and we can play far better than this game.

Way to many misses. Way to many free throw misses. NO key means no defense.

We played like a young team. Our leaders did not play well until later in the game. To believe Stanford does not know how to scheme a defense for a struggling offense is unrealistic. This loss is not surprising. Jordan H. has not been shooting well for several games but she shows up at crunch time and been instrumental in our wins. Tamari was taken out early. Tough to compensate for those losses but they fought back.

Hope everyone keeps coming back!! That third quarter run was worth the ticket. Had the place rocking. Could feel the energy when Alexus made that move and fouled Brink out of the game.
