Game Thread: Carson Newman v Lady Vols, Thurs Oct 31; Home-FCC; 6:30PM; SEC+ network....Win Lv's 135-49

I'm thinking CKC is a coach who will pull players when they make mental mistakes, just to prevent them from repeating it and slowing down their own learning progress. But I don't remember her actually saying that.

Do y'all think she will be like Coach Barnes in that aspect, especially early in the season?
Bruised, I highly doubt it given her background. She likely has her plan in place where she scripts the first half mostly and lets them play through their time slots. Second half is where she probably adjusts if needed, but her past suggests she lets them play through it all early until the team gels later.

This is where the OOC schedule was wise for this season. FSU may be the only team that has a chance to win against the LV’s before conf play, Iowa doesn’t stand a chance this year. They will have time to build and correct upon their play prior to the SEC schedule. It should be a 23-5/22-6 type regular season, which will be an amazing first season for the new staff.

It looks like all 13 active players are warming up tonight per Cora Hall.
Based upon the past, this staff will play 6-7 players roughly equal and another 2-3 will contribute in a significant way. But her system will incorporate 8-10 players that play enough to be actual contributors.

Raining here in Middle TN. Started raining there yet?
Maybe the rain will drive those with trick or treaters into TBA tonight.

No rain. BUT about 12 tiny vol fans lined up on court to greet the team in their tiny tunnel.

That’s the exact starting 5 I predicted on these threads a few days ago. Probably the best combo of skills, speed, athleticism etc…..I actually think it’s a plus CKC does not feel the need to put a big in starting lineup just for size purposes, her system can go full throttle with the lineup she is starting.

The change in style plays right into Ace's wheelhouse.

Tess lacks the wheels to pay press man to man defense from baseline to baseline. If we have any of our 6' 2"+ players get banged up I could see her helping there.
If you have looked at Tess this year, it looks like she has lost about 20 pounds. She might surprise some. She is also a 5th-year senior with 4 years of SEC experience, most of which is starting experience that no one on this team has. She has some tangibles that may be being overlooked.
