Oops did Geno just have a Bobby Knight moment? Threw a water bottle out on the floor, got a T! Announcers blame his hard experience w refs at Tennessee!

Also noteworthy that Geno got held back by someone other than Chris D! (Elliott?) Chris must have ceded her long time main duty

That was funny. At one point you had one asst hanging onto a love handle and the other pressing his gut. Nice to see the standard routine shuffled a little.

Would have been interesting to hear the comments if conn had lost by one. Losing the grip on a water bottle...rookie mistake.

What a wimpy ass version of the Bobby Knight slide the chair across the floor. A water bottle, really?

Chris may have been hampered a bit in hold back duties by that outfit. White flowy ultra bell bottom something or another, And as always, George Harrisons Early Beatle Hair.

Mississippi State has only lost 2 games at home by 11 to Ole Miss and 7 by South Carolina. I expect this one to be really close.

Auriemma is teetering into Woofy Hayes territory.

If he continues much longer, at some point I'm expecting him to get loose from his keepers, waddle out to midcourt, drop his trousers, squat and...

you know the rest.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

It's crunch time. The time to "learn from losses," with one possible exception, has closed.
The rest of the season is 100% "staff figuring out how to counteract weaknesses while shocking the Ish out of some opponents..

Yes, the game against SC is kind of a house money game. It would be a huge win but a loss (barring an absolute blow-out) won't have much negative impact.

Right now, the LVs are a projected 7 seed which means they are only 1 or 2 losses from being a bubble team. And getting to the sweet 16 from 7 or 8 seed is not an easy road, so they need to play their way up to at least a 5.

An upset against SC and/or strong run in the SEC tournament (making it to the final at least) coupled with winning their other conference games might do it.

This will be a battle but Tennessee will prevail 75 to 65. It could really depend upon KJHā€™s subbing pattern how close this game will be. What could make the game even closer is our boring and stale offense of throwing the ball around hoping to get an inside shot. However, Tennessee is a good defensive team and I believe that will make a difference.

Never would have considered this a valid statement headed into SEC play. Grateful theyā€™ve been able to pick up that part of the game. Hope that continues to thrive!

Quite honestly, I could have done without that image. (And here, I feel that I am speaking for the whole of humanity).....back to Kellie in a leather catwoman suit....

They don't seem to be able to run out games in the 4th quarter and blow out teams and get overrun by good teams. CKJH has to continually rotate players to keep the good player fresh which means they aren't game fit. UConn played 6 players for most of the game and they outshot and over run our players in the 4th. They should be full court pressing and making them work for every basket then making the opposing team chase them around so they are having to rotate their players. Again, game fitness is a problem here. A player like Justine Pissot should be getting at least 10-15 minutes per game now instead 5 minutes. She also seems to end up standing on the 3-point line like a statue (is there an offense being run and does she know it?). She's 6'4 and if she's being guarded by a 5'9 guard that is a mismatch for her so clear out and move her to the block and let her work or draw a double team, a foul and pass to the open player for an open shot. There are a lot of possessions down the court where players are standing around waiting for someone to do something. Horston, Jackson and Franklin should get their points. Miss State is a small team, and we should use that to our advantage and get some of our other players confidence going into the tournament. Drive the basket and get their big players in foul trouble.

These kids were recruited playing tournament style weekend play. Fatigue isnā€™t a factor just an excuse to get by.
I literally did not look at who posted this but as soon as I read ā€œan excuse to get byā€. I knew exactly who posted it. I am confident the Lady Vols work very hard and, being human, can get physically and mentally tired. Letā€™s not forget they are also full time students and do not live in a bubble. Why not on occasion give them the benefit of the doubt.
The accusations of several posters that the players are lazy or not giving effort yada, yada, yada just strike me as so ridiculous given the effort and commitment it takes to develop a game that gets you a P5 athletic scholarship. Does it make any sense that they worked so hard to become a Lady Vol and upon walking into the locker room no longer cared, or worked hard? We should encourage and lift these young people up not falsely accuse them of trying to just get by.

You missed the entire context if this is what you came up with. These girls were recruited playing high end AAU ball, 5-6 games a weekend. The ā€œget byā€ was for fans looking for any reason to validate their play.

And as much as I care about and support these kids in their playing up this game, I agree totally that they come from an environment where they play tournament basketball Where 4 games is the absolute minimum for a weekend if you're in the championship in 6 is pretty much the maximum... And for most tournaments even if you don't advance at all you will get at least 2,3,or 4 games on the weekend.

They are more prepared for tournament style play when they get here than after they have been here a while, which would validate your point as well, Lucy

Not at all confident we will win the game tonight. Kellie likes to play the entire roster so we are sometimes very inconsistent in the way we play. Seeing a lot of different predictions of a double digit win hopefully it is the way it goes.

Kaiya, BK, Edie, beg to differ. Justine has played a bit more lately, but she's played sparingly. Recently Karo only played 9 mins one game. Earlier in the year, this would have been true. But she's trimmed it way down since stuff got real with better teams. RJ, JH, and JW are playing 30-35 a game. There are questions surrounding effective post mins but in general who plays when has moved far down on my KJH worry list.

Kaiya played in the last game. So everyone but Edie and BK as I want count that half minute that BK played. Jill played 17 minutes and Jasmine 13 not a goof look when two of your best players are playing such limited minutes.

Somehow, the Lady Bulldogs are coming off a eight day break in the schedule. How does that happen in SEC? They will have fresh legs while we are fatigued. Their 6'5" girl is scoring the ball.

Lady Vols 66
MSU 63

An ugly affair at the Hump where I pray RJ can avoid taking a swing at a bunch of yapping jelli thug girls w/limited b-ball skills.

Fortunately for us, their game 8 days ago was a meltdown nightmare. The kind you don't want to live with for 8 days before getting on the court again. Lost by 30 at Georgia, only scored 34 points, and Carter had 8 pts. 2 rebs and 9 turnovers.
