Fortunately for us, their game 8 days ago was a meltdown nightmare. The kind you don't want to live with for 8 days before getting on the court again. Lost by 30 at Georgia, only scored 34 points, and Carter had 8 pts. 2 rebs and 9 turnovers.

Yeah....that can go two ways for them. They could pack it in for the year. Or, they might springboard into a hungry aggressive team.

I think they will go the second direction and come out swinging like Tiger Woods' wife..

Adultery and divorce, particularly when kids are involved, is always tragic, but I guess enough time has passed that I shouldn't feel too bad for laughing out loud at this.

I just wonder which UT staffer is responsible for the cooler of frozen water bottles behind Kellie's seat in case the officiating gets hinky.

Yes, the game against SC is kind of a house money game. It would be a huge win but a loss (barring an absolute blow-out) won't have much negative impact.

Right now, the LVs are a projected 7 seed which means they are only 1 or 2 losses from being a bubble team. And getting to the sweet 16 from 7 or 8 seed is not an easy road, so they need to play their way up to at least a 5.

An upset against SC and/or strong run in the SEC tournament (making it to the final at least) coupled with winning their other conference games might do it.
I just don't see the fire in this team that that kind of run requires. I hope I am wrong.

I think besides a miracle run and getting a 3 seed, the best would be to be a 6 or 7 seed to make a good run.

I'd say fatigue at this point of the season is mental, not physical. Heck, I'm worn out just from watching!

The mental fatigue. Comparing college experiences to high school ball and tournaments overlooks the extra pressure of being student-athlete with collegiate expectations on the academic and athletic side.

The flipside is that every team has to manage this mid-season struggle and it separates the contenders from the "also rans" (corrected on edit).

Okay, madtown. I feeling my grammar nazi fever and the only way to find relief is ….more cowbell!
🥇 win, place, show, also ran. In common non-track parlance, also-ran.

Guilty as charged. What my brain thinks and what my fingers type do not always correspond. So would this be a homophone or a homonym error?

Exactly. I wasn't articulate about my point regarding fatigue in my post in which the fatigue dialogue came from. It is a fairly universal concept that it is really difficult to maintain focus, energy, and motivation throughout every basketball game for an entire season. Even the best teams tend to have games at this time of year in which they don't seem to show up mentally (UT men vs. Florida for example). I do think getting a whole week between games can help players recover mentally as well as have time more time to practice individually as well as a team. I don't like it that 3 straight SEC opponents have had a full week off before playing us while we had not any week off from games. Hopefully, the Lady Bulldogs :) will be all bark and no bite.

I want to see Jillian start, and Karoline come off the bench to give her rest. Franklin needs more minutes too.

Jaz is playing all the minutes her knee will allow. 12-15 minutes per game max. Mostly, save her for the final 4-5 minutes.

She is like our baseball closer coming out of bullpen.

Oh, they will be barking at RJ. I will promise you that much.

They are still mad about that whole deal.

winner of 4 vs 5 seed gets number seed secpnd round.. 3 vs 6 seed meet secord 2 vs 7 seed play second round 1 vs 8 seed play second round. 5 seed gets you 1 seed third round. 6 gets 3 seed second play winner or 2 vs 7 seed. 7 seed gets 2 seed round two and winner of 3 vs 6 round two 5 seed will get 4 seed round 2 but plays 1 seed round three. 6 or 7 little harder second but aviods one seed to round 4 so i would want seed 2,3,67 kept away from 1 seed to round four. seed 4,5,8 gets 1 seed second or third round.
