Game Thread: LADY VOLS AT NO. 16/14 NOTRE DAME

I worry a little about the subbing, but against a team that isn't deep, it is an excellent tactic.
What I like is that I didn't see gaps tonight.

Yes there were mini droughts, but when the offense started sputtering someone each time stepped up and drove or hit a shot.
This is growth.
And way to work the refs tonight Coach K!...tonight they weren't a factor

I believe we can. Our big, glaring issue is no PG. Once we sort out that roll and the freshman learn a few things we can cut down on it. Horston sees the game faster and better than her teammates. They need to catch up to her and she needs to come back to them. Almost all of her TO are like Evina’s her freshman year. Great passes that the other player isn’t ready for because they didn’t even know they were open.

"Our big glaring issue is no PG"???

STARTERS FG...3PT...FT.....REB...AST...STL...BLK...TO...PF...PTS
J. Massengill 1-4....0-1...3-6....13.......9.......0.........4.......3......2.....5

I have no idea what your post means lol.

I think you mean Jazz played well, which I agree with. But she’s still not “our PG” at least not yet. She’s still splitting time with Horston and she didn’t play well in the first two games. She’s still a poor FT shooter and not an offensive threat which hurts us. Lou Brown is the emotional leader, so unless Jazz starts dishing and rebounding like that consistently we still don’t have a PG.

Which is why we had almost 30 turnovers. We don’t have someone who can go demand the ball and run the show. Every. Single. Possession. Which is what an elite PG does.

I was a Harper doubter (recruiting and otherwise)

A win is a win period especially when it's over ND, a top 15 team. Plus it was without Zay.

But every fear I have was also validated tonight. 30 TOs is insane and very few were forced. Our size saved us.

Not sure how I feel overall.

You feel elated. A young LV team went on the road and beat a top 15 team.

We'll whittle down the TOs. And we'll still be very tall and very athletic.

I like our Size against UCONN this year. They didn't look better than us at all from what i saw against Cal. Man would it be nostalgic to whip their butts this year in CONN ! Its looking more and more possible game by game GO LV !

Basically they are saying she had a great game to sum it up... she had 13 boards, 9 assists , 3 turnovers and 4 blocks

If she isn’t going to be a viable scorer (which is ok) she can’t be a defensive liability and has to run the team. I think tonight she ran the team well but then showed her inexperience towards the end of the game a little.

All in all great way for her to respond to Zaay going down, on the road, and playing on national tv.

Yes, I figured it out. I actually posted earlier and shouted her out specifically for really stepping up. Consistency is going to be the key though. She didn’t play well the first two games of the season, I was glad to see her play better defense and do a nice job passing the ball tonight. Hope this game gives her confidence.
