Lady Vols, while nowhere near perfect, did what they needed to do. Win! Hard work and good coaching can fix the turnover problem. What is evident is that the ladies are playing hard and with passion. That has been missing in the past. They have lots to continue to work on to get better, but the future looks brighter to me than it did in previous years.

Really, after tonight I think we can play with anyone in the country! It was like a switch with the fire and determination and discipline of this team this evening! Go lady vols!

I have no idea what your post means lol.

I think you mean Jazz played well, which I agree with. But she’s still not “our PG” at least not yet. She’s still splitting time with Horston and she didn’t play well in the first two games. She’s still a poor FT shooter and not an offensive threat which hurts us. Lou Brown is the emotional leader, so unless Jazz starts dishing and rebounding like that consistently we still don’t have a PG.

Which is why we had almost 30 turnovers. We don’t have someone who can go demand the ball and run the show. Every. Single. Possession. Which is what an elite PG does.

If Kellie is gonna play Jessie Rennie then she needs to bring more to the table. Rennie is open but don`t shoot the ball why ?

If so, I’m just glad to have a POSITIVE first again. Last season was a whole bunch of firsts for all the wrong reasons.

Young and nervous. I think she kept out a couple of the freshman so they could just watch tonight. Which I believe was a good plan. She and Saunders need to get some practices under their belt.

If Massengill can give us what she did tonight and Horston and a couple others can cut down on their turnovers were gonna be fine. I don't care if Massengill can't score if she can set up Davis, Horston, and Key we'll be ok.

I recall us winning on the road at top 5(?) Mississippi State in 2016-17. And winning on the road at a top 10(?) Oregon State either that year or the year before...

I don't think so. They beat SC and Kentucky when both were top ten teams when Holly was coach.

Agreed, and a lot of the young players look great. I know if I were in 2021 or 2022 I’d be thinking that playing with Tamari Key and Jordan Horston doesn’t look like a bad idea.

I heard them say this was the first home loss period for ND in 5 seasons. Nothing to sneeze at even if they aren’t the same team from a season ago.

Maybe non-conference.... not even sure about that. But the announcers did say first win vs. T25 since 2011.

I recall a blowout win on the road against Mississippi State in February of 2017 as well, when they were ranked #7. The final score was 82-64. That announcer was handed some bad info.
