Well what is the answer?
We are 4-4, 4-4!
Yes we played better but this should've probably been a win if not for the poor start.
Reynolds and Nunn are seniors
DD, Russell, Nared, Alexa, & Dunbar are seniors so if Dunbar is not ready how freaking ready is she going to get? Same with Reynolds, wtf more does Holly need to see from Jordan that she (and all of us) haven't already seen?
At this point (and yes the season isn't over but we're going no where fast) what do you have to lose?
Jordan wont be returning, so why not increase the minutes for MeMe, Dunbar, Harris, and Alexa to get them developed and have some sort of a bench leading into next season or we (not me but some of you) will be making excuses as to why these same players aren't ready as juniors and seniors next season (Harris will be a Sophomore)
Let's not wait like we did with Nia Moore (also MeMe and Alexa last season) get nothing out of them in a sense (for 4 seasons in Nia's case) when they could've been ready to go in a big game like Syracuse when you don't have Jordan and Graves and Carter are ineffective.
Why give out scholarships to players who doesn't fit into your plans as it seems to look like the case for Dunbar (too early to tell with Harris).
How about bench warmer?:thud::thud:
UConn usually assigns last on the bench the role of Rally Monkey (as christened by someone on the old ESPN board), whose sole role was to go up and down the bench and double high five the rest of the players whenever UConn hit a three. I think that role is perfect for Jordan, but she may not have much to do what with Tennessee's outside shooting.
I don't see what the point is in investing in her any further. She is what she is, and won't get any better. Might as well use the minutes as learning opportunities for players that will actually be on the team next year.
I didn't say you did. I'm agreeing with you.
Sorry I went back and read your post!
It still will be a long year regardless who is on the floor in my humble opinion. Stanford and ND will be loses and the SEC will be difficult as well. Just hope for the best I guess. They at least played hard for the biggest part of the game. Just got behind so far it took all the gas to catch up.
I'm not sure about Stanford. They may not have the inside size to stop Russell. I think they should beat KY for the same reason. Texas was a tough outing because of how physical Kelsey Lang is. Absent that kimd of presence, Tennessee should win games against most of the SEC minus SC and Miss State if they play at the level they did today.
If their performance drops below what they showed today, anything goes unfortunately...
I've seen Stanford a couple of times and it ain't about the size. 3 pts made are more than 2 pts made and The Cardinal has 3 point shooters, lots of them.
But in all hopes if Tennessee can play lockdown defense like they did against Texas in the 2nd and 3rd quarters then they have a chance.
She's had more good games over the last two years than anyone else on the roster.
Channeling Pat4Life? If she starts throwing out some "wuteva?", then the transformation is complete.
How bad is it? Warlick said in her post-game presser she was proud of the kids for competing! When that is what make you proud, when you don't know game in, game out, if your team is going to compete, baby, you've got some serious problems.
Exactly
Barnes was quoted as saying he wanted to win, not just compete.
