Game Thread Lady Vols Softball Team SEC Tournament

Fridays games
Auburn and Ala play at 11:30
Us and LSU at 2:00
Auburn and Ala winner plays Florida (it looks like) at 4:30

I think you should probably put in that post the times are CST or local time because we're going to be getting them one hour time difference. For instance, the Bama-Auburn game will be 12:30 PM(EST). That's unless some of you are actually in the CST market like in Chattanooga & Nashville.

We're EST here in Chattanooga!

U are right my post was from the sec network website which shows central time zone.

Now at the bottom ticker on SEC Network it says the Bama-Auburn game will start at noon EST. I thought it was 11:30 AM CST(local time) & 12:30 PM EST? Has it changed time again?

Auburn jumped all over Alabama early 4-0, now 5-2 top of the third.

6-2 now in the 5th...Auburn is the scariest team in the SEC imo..they can score on anybody..might be a good matchup to see if they can upset UF if they hold on to this game.

Florida getting lucky with the tournament draw. Bama/Auburn game is a battle. The survivor gets to play Florida after the UT/LSU game.

Problem is that whoever wins this game will have about 3 hours to come down off their high of winning, and then have to get back up. That's a tough thing to do.

6-4 but two outs now with a runner on 2nd..hoping for extra innings so I can watch it at home and not on my desk...that said WatchESPN is awesome :)

Does the Auburn win help or hurt us for a super-regional?

IMHO, at this point winning the SEC tournament is the only way to get a top-8 seed for supers. I think Auburn winning hurt us, as they are in front of UT in RPI and rankings, as is Bama, but Bama was 3-4 in most polls so they won't drop all that much, and Auburn with their win will probably stay where they are if they lose to Florida later today.

The biggest thing now for supers is matchups. I'm fairly confident UT will be on the road at this point. If UT is 9, 10, 11, 12...or whatever doesn't matter as much as if they draw a strong, playing great ball team, or a team that's fallen off the last week or two.

Has anybody else seen the starting lineup and thought "What the heck is going on?!?!?" I understand that Rainey is out but I'm scratching my head with a few of theses adjustments. Obviously, I'm not one of the coaches and I don't see these girls practice every day, so I'm going to hope this plays out well and Ralph and Karen come out looking like geniuses.

Yea, it is an odd time, so late in the year, to make so many drastic changes. The coaches could have just plugged McClain in at CF, but instead opted to put Geer out there, put Overstreet at third (?), Lockman at catcher and I think Morrison is in the lineup, too--she's hardly played all year! We'll see if it works....Maybe they are just hoping to get a couple of players going before the NCAA? Hard to say.

Aucoin has not been helping much--her strikeout in the second was bad, as even moving base runners along to second and third probably helps us score a run. I've not seen much from her lately. We need more production from the bottom half of the lineup. Geathers seems to have got her swing back, so that helps....

I think the Morrison move was what baffled me the most. But, if it works, then I'll take it.

Yeah, after thinking it over, I think the Weekly's have done the math and figured their odds of hosting a super are very very slim, so trying something new to get ready for the tournament run.

Personally, I don't think these lineup adjustments after the Gaffin injury means anything in regards to the Weekly's already given up on hosting a super regional and/or getting into the top 8 seeds. It certainly is a weird lineup though with all the changes.

I'm shocked at a couple of them for sure. Overstreet playing 3B looks really weird out there. Geer has played CF earlier in the season but I think the announcers said 2 starts in CF. Lockman being in there seems crazy too.

shoot...Morrison pops up to the pitcher to end the inning..I don't understand this lineup either
