Game Thread: Lady Vols v MTSU; Away game; Wed Dec 6th at 7:30PM; ESPN+

Now we can fire her.

A lot of the players on this roster aren’t even SEC quality.

Striplin, horrible against top 25 competition, but she looks decent enough against the scrubs that y’all thinks she’s amazing

Darby and Strickland, idk why they were ever offered a scholarship.

I’d keep going, but that may hurt y’all’s feelings

This post is about two-three years behind the ones who hurt feelings here.

This not gone cut it they need to have a team meeting or something..we gone have to beat LSU and South Carolina twice to make tournament or is it still to early?
And we will slip up 2-4 other times before we get to the SECT

You overestimate your abilities.

Man, Cora is on KJH case hard, both in the presser and in print this morning. Dan Flessor would have never!

Cora's on a major campaign (almost unprofessionally so for a reporter and not a columnist) for more mins for Wynn and less for Tess. Hard to disagree with that. I can't imagine how they justify Tess' hefty minutes anymore. Truthfully, if they aren't going to use Wynn I'd rather see Strickland get the mins in this short bench situation. She's currently no better than Darby but no worse and she's younger and plays with alot of energy.

Tess' unforced turnover leading to the miracle 3 before halftime was probably the turning point of the game. She also missed a wide open layup off a great pass by Strip late in the game that was brutal. Tess is having the year Sara had last year. Hate it for her but its killing us.

I'm worried about Jill. She was in concussion protocol this time last year. Can't get piling those things up, you become Carolyn Ducharme.

Insell wanted this game in Alabama because he knew no Vol fans would show as compared to The Buro, what he didn't know is the team wouldn't either. Time for a change

A good reporter is subjective and calls it like it is. Not worried about feelings but uncovering the why.

The Tess turnover before halftime should have been a message sent that’s she’s not playing the rest of the night. She’s playing herself out of mins and last night was liability. Go with others before she sets foot back on the court.

Nah, that's a good opinion columnist like John Adams (ducks)

A good reporter doesn't editorilize in straight news reporting. Just the facts, the readers will figure out Tess needs to be benched.

She should ask the hard questions in the presser and does.

If you can’t ask tough questions you’re not doing your job. If the questions are protected like Dan and Maria you lose credibility by being a fan and not a journalist

Yeah I just edited to add Cora should ask tough presser ?s and does.

Columns, give opinions. News story, give facts. Presser, ask hard questions.

What you are talking about is "advocacy journalism," which used to be an oxymoron. Subjectivity is the domain of fans, not journalists (at least in theory).

Asking hard questions is being objective.

MTSU starters played all but 4 minutes, and they extending the lead in the 4th Q. Darby shouldn't be playing 31 minutes period. What does she have on Kellie and staff? Or is Kellie really that bad at seeing what's happening on the court?
Her husband does sub”patterns.

Cora doing her job. Dan and Maria are fans with press passes.

Telling a player to go check in doesn't mean he has total say so on the sub patterns. Pretty sure that's agreed to by all the coaches, and ultimately is the responsibility of the head coach.

You said, "A good reporter is subjective and tells it like it is."

"Telling it like it is" is being  objective, not "subjective."

In simplified terminology:

"Subjective" = opinions.
"Objective" = facts.
A reporter asking a question is looking for the opinions to why.

Don’t be mad at Cora for taking feelings out of the question.

The problem is when Cora puts her feelings into straight news stories.

Again, reporters feelings and opinions are ok in opinion columns and in presser questions. Just not the straight write up of the game.

I want to know when we get off our butts and hire a big name coach, because the current plan isn't working.
