Hearing Kellie talk about players needing to take some ownership and step up as leaders in the locker room kind of confirms that what we're seeing on the court is a lack of confidence and players being down on themselves. Maybe also a little bit of "woe is us" with our injuries. I think it can be true that the staff needs to do something, anything different to build better offensive and defensive systems to set players up for success (and have better substitution patterns), and that individual players have to up their mental toughness - the individual player mistakes and untimely turnovers in this game were quite shocking.

That's our team next year (minus Powell) whether there's a coaching change or not. Unless there's a big portal haul, which is doubtful under current circumstances, or a new coach brings along quality transfers, this, plus Cooper and Boyd is it, Both of them are athletic and quick, should help some. Also, Tess, Wells, and Spear have optional covid years which all are likely to take.

Pretty sure Strip has started along the way. Puckett is from Muscle Shoals, just a hop skip and jump away fm Hunstville. Strip is from a small town I believe in So Eastern Ala. She said during the presser it was 4 hrs away.

The Shoals is very cool, recently visited the famous sound studio there where Aretha, Otis Redding, Duane Allman, the Swampers all made magic. Rolling Stones recorded Wild Horses there.

Striplin started the vast majority of last season after TK went out. How do people not remember this? She was our starting 5 for 3/4 of last season.

We have talent and coaching issues. Look at our stats from last night: In a lot of ways they are good--better than we usually see. This roster
is simply not very good, mostly because of poor recruiting. We do not have even ONE athletic wing on this team. We have games where our offense is bad--and then we have games where our offense is decent or good and our defense can't get it done. If Jackson ever gets healthy and back on the court, we could see significant improvement, but, yea, her presence won't change our underlying coaching/recruiting issues.

Clearly, MTSU is a good team and VERY WELL coached. He's taken that team to the NCAA tourney, what, 7 times.

Not getting into conspiracy theories here but is it just me or is it a bit strange that no info about Rickea's timeline to return is being said at all? Her return, if and when, could hopefully plug the hole in the sinking ship. Why not urgency. I understand the HIPPA stuff and all that but some kind of timeline could be offered up.

The silence is deafening.

Kellie seemed to throw cold water on the notion of her return being imminent at the postgame presser. The tournament streak is in big trouble.

I have been asking this for years! Darby gets more PT than almost anyone else, and then they recruited Edie to take up a roster spot? The Darby family definitely has something on the Harpers, there's just no doubt...

This injury reminds me of Rae. The info we never get anymore is the name of the injury, and that is frustrating. We never knew exactly what her knee injury involved. We only knew about Jordy's elbow dislocation bc it happened on court.

I don't think the lack of specific info is to piss us off, its because a pro career is involved. RJ is signed on with the best WNBA agent and I'm sure Jade Li English wants specific info tightly controlled. Of course the W will examine all health records, but RJ's peeps will want to control the info flow now.

Loss drops the team to 96th in the NET. Not even close to consideration for the NCAAT. MTSU is 63rd meaning we have a Quad 2 loss. They have to get to top 50 for it to become Quad 1. Thing is, if we had just agreed to play in Murfreesboro it would already be Quad 1.

Thanks, I did see the report on the lower leg injury, which of course tells you nothing but not the pressor last night. Guess I'm just frustrated with the whole injury silence protocol in sports now.

Pat also had perennial Final Four teams with deep talent. We do not. We could use another interior player but instead we have Edie and Strickland who is also entirely out of her depth at this level.
