Game Thread: Lady Vols Vs Arkansas; Sun Jan 12th ; Away game; 1PM Eastern; SEC Network WIN 93-63

Coach, I have not kept count, but in the last three games we have been foul city. Against Arkansas we had 25 fouls with 12 being called in favor of Higgenbottom. We have to do something about that, although I questioned several of the foul calls. Maybe that is the fan in me speaking, I believe that several of the foul calls in the last three games were ridiculous.
I have watched Kim talk to the refs...And I have yet to see her stand one down, but I have seen her pleading... She is gonna have to bow up and put one of these zebras in their place and get over this being nice... You are nice to them when you feel they are calling the game fairly. You be brutal with them when they're not

I totally agree good buddy.....Coach Kim is way too nice to these offending referees....Perhaps, after her baby, she will give them hell....She does not need the added stress of yelling or she may deliver on the sidelines......( As an EMT in an ambulance, I delivered several babies...There was a lot of screaming and yelling going on by the laboring mothers and by me........PUSH!!!!

Also, it has amazed me how the players of today often carry the ball and palm the ball..They are never called for it...In my day, they would all be whistled out of the game before the first half..

You would probably be taken more serious if you could spell 4 letter words. NAH, word is out!
Real meaning something alive.
Is different than a reel fishing.
I get in a hurry sometimes don't try to spell every word right.
I knew the spelling was not right.
But was watching the game.
I'm not using spell check.
Just using a streaming device.
Not trying to respond in perfect English in every post.

Seems like you're mostly trying to help.
So I responded to your post.
Let's leave it at that.
Not interested in a mud throwing contest.
As Jack from heartland said "can not sling mud and keep your own hands clean.

And for all the people who post like it's a English final exam.
That's not me. But I enjoy some of the better natural posters who do and don't respond much to ones wanting to sling mud.

Just busting your chops. I have been known to mess up the language myself. If you were a bad sort I would have gone way down the class scale. Gotta get down to their level.

I hate when the refs call touch fouls especially one sided. Carrying as long as both teams do it I have no problem with it. Let the game flow. Who wants to hear the whistle blow every possession? It all slows the game down and affects what we're trying to do. Let the players decide and refs just do the game for money and don't need to be apart of it.

I agree %100. Refs will test you if they don't know you. Mulkey was on the playing floor as much as her players Thursday night. Nothing was said to her. I got in heated debate with refs coaching middle school game once. They threw me out of the game and made me leave gym. Same refs did 2 more games that year. Called the games equal on both sides after that.

If that’s true… you shouldn’t be coaching youth

How many times will it need to be repeated before you understand that Kim, who is pregnant and needs to keep stress at a minimum, cannot be "bowing up" to refs in a damn ball game until she no longer has a small human being inside her?

Jeez.

Very true that CKC may be keeping a tight handle on her emotions because of her pregnancy. However, she strikes me as generally being an even keel, no drama type of person. I am not sure she is "screamer" type and we may have to accept a different strokes for different strokes scenario.

Now, I know there are many who believe the only way to get refs to call the game "fairly" (i.e. in ways that favor our team) is to yell, scream, threaten, and otherwise make them look like incompetent idiots on national television. That statement is truism, it is Gospel, it is beyond question and I shall not dare to do so here.

I only ask in what other context does such bellicose behavior curry favor with others. Apparently, refs are a different form of life whose motivational system is entirely different from all other people on the planet.

So far be it from me to suggest that perhaps a calmer approach, where a coach might take a ref aside and says, hey how about keeping an eye for 23 pushing off all the time and so on might be quietly effective whereas the fan pleasing histrionics just pisses the refs off.

Fine, as a starting conversation with a stripe, sure,,,one time, maybe even two times
but what if it doesn't work,,,you still gonna caress their ears?
Not me,,,I am so far down their throat I can smell their lunch
and if they get mad,,,I get madder
you'll throw "me arse" out before I back down once you pushed me to this limit

I once got tossed at a regional Jr High BB tournament that the wife had to work even though our school was not in it. Just killing time while providing transportation.

Had zero skin in the game but it was so one sided I could not help myself. After my third cheap shot they had me ejected.

The principal was not only her boss but our closest neighbor, between games had a little fun on my behalf, telling them that a portfolio I was carrying indicated I was from Hermitage. That was because we lived there when first married.

I lived literally with a view of TSSAA headquarters when the leaves were gone and shared meals at Shoney’s with several of them routinely.

Anyway he left them with the impression I was planning on sharing my thoughts with the brass there.

As I have shared, I have little tolerance for bad officials. I actually took sports officiating in college, therefore was assigned to call intra mural basketball, softball, and flag football.

I suffered from allowing anticipation to guide my interpretation of action. It was something I had to do as a participant to compensate for my lack of athleticism. So I walked away. Not enough others do, even when their intent is honorable they need to pull the plug.

Really? Of all the douchey-as-hell things you've ever said on here, this short comment takes the prize. It beats even every cringe-worthy mention you've made about your "alpha"-ness.

That was it. I'm done.
didn't mean it as a cheap shot,,,I CAN"T help anyone's timing...Including yours
edited,,,appreciate it you'd do the same

Gonna display it for all to see,,now who's being douchey

Plus this is year one. She needs to be "making friends" with them and building equity. Blowing up this early would be dumb.

Plus, plus you have to coach your own way. She seems very comfortable in her own skin, especially for someone so young. She can say things bluntly, but not offensively so. I'm not sure how to describe it, there's a weightiness to her words and what she says sinks in. As she builds a rapport with the SEC officials I'm sure that we will see her own unique version of "the stare".

I wished the whole game that Coach would work her way down and stand RIGHT next to her during live ball floor visits. Love to see them T her up for being out of the coaches box FURTHER than Leopard Lady.

I can honestly say that in over 40 years of coaching on every level, top to bottom,,,I have been ejected twice from a game
