Wut?
We shot 24 FTs to their 5 on 17 fouls to our 7. Maybe a couple over the back no calls but seemed tilted our way.
Holly is working on Russell getting the ball in set plays as soon as she figures out what set plays are. Looks like they are trying to play street ball.
Sure looked to me like Nared was tripped. Might not have been intentional, but she was tripped. NOT she tripped. The girl's leg was spraddled out.
I was really happy to see Mercedes so aggressive on the rebounds at the Aubusrn end! She was really trying to pull the ball away from the opponent!
I hope Jamie is okay. I hope she hasn't had serious damage to her hip area.
Go Lady Vols! Lighting can strike 3 times!
I mean come on running a pick and roll with a body as big as Russell's can't be that hard. I don't know as I said don't watch much women's basketball but Tennessee is not a very fundamentally sound basketball team. How do you come out of a timeout with a mid court in bounds play when all you need to do is get it in to someone who can shoot FT's (Auburn's got to foul) and botch it that bad? Have to say they did play that 2-3 zone really well but man they sure didn't have an answer for that Auburn press.
She redeemed herself from the last game winning shot she missed. That was an opportunistic shot and not what was drawn up. That's the best way to hit a game winner.

If they have been starters all year they shouldn't be playing like freshmen this late in the season.
I thought it was a very weak trip at best - maybe intentional but it didn't look like it. It looked like Nared stepped in the precise spot to brush her foot over the Auburn girl's shin and that was all it took. Could have been called tripping, but wasn't egregious if it was.
Honestly, there were bad calls, a few in particular I thought silly, but the two between whatsherface and Westbrook, I think the refs got them right. Over the back is about pushing the player or gaining position by using your body to move the other player out of position (from behind) - I don't think the Auburn girl did that either time.
Except the comment I responded to said it's not just this one game, it's been that way all season.
Either way, the point is we have some ridiculously critical fans. I swear I think some sit around thinking about what clever criticism they can come up with to top a previous one.
I did like when the announcer asked her about the play being drawn up for her (I think?), and Davis had this like 2 second pause before she answered where you could just see her mind working over what to say.
