The problem is the way holly wants to run offense. She preaches slowwwww and it takes away from athletes like diamond and cooper and carter making plays. We run one of the worst offensive sets ive ever seen at a high level.
I don't see offensive sets, period. Holly can't coach offense, and it appears none of her assistants can either.
I'm giving Diamond a pass because she's rusty and obviously not 100% physically, but her natural gifts are evident. She'll be fine if her health improves.
Te'a is young but incredibly talented. Her shooting and ball handling will improve. She and Diamond will be a tantalizing tandem eventually, if Holly doesn't get in the way with her major substitution fetish.
It's not all gloom and doom. We're 3-0 against decent (not great) competition. Four games in nine days is tough, but Holly MUST find her seven best and go with them. Dunbar's shooting range was needed tonight, but Holly's defensive-centric mindset gets in the way. When teams constantly clog the lane due to Mercedes' size, Holly will be forced to play Kortney more. Or maybe Meme can be the answer, who knows yet. Nared showed some nice range last year as well. Can't wait to get her back.
I still contend Jones, Carter and Middleton should only spell tired starters for a few minutes a half. All three are too inconsistent to deserve the minutes Holly gifts (yes gift, not "give") them. Moore is a wasted scholarship.
This alum and fan will never give up on the Lady Vols, but I sure don't have to sit back and ignore sub-standard coaching and strategy, ever.
