Texas had four days to prepare for this game, and we had one, and we could have one this game.

Some Lady Vol fans Knew, without a doubt, that Cooper was going to be the Freshman Of The Year. It is a long season, though, so maybe their near fantasy dream will come true.

It just goes to show how stupid people can be on a message board, whether it's their expert opinion on players or coaches.

Higgins gurl is looking like Freshman of the Year. ijs

I know we were in trouble when she was starting, over two juniors, but our guards can't go north and south, so I knew her defense was going to get her the starting nod, but freshman have no poised, unless they are other team's freshman.

The ball didn't bounce our way today folks plus we had missed opportunities in scoring the basket. I thought Holly did a good job but it was the players that couldn't score points.

There is one ball. A full roster. Do the math. Not enough balls to go around. TEAM WORK. TEAM WORK. TEAM WORK.

Until this team learns to play as a team. Value the ball. And quit trying to out shine the other players when they hit the floor. To many times they are trying to make bad passes. They will not go anywhere come March.

No wonder we lost two top five TN girls to other schools. A coach who can't get a team with our players to do any better than tonight isn't getting it done. I feel sorry for the kids wasting their eligibility with our inept offense. And we haven't been able to defend the three in years. Seems like the coaches would eventually learn to teach the players how. We started out passing the ball around the perimeter and were ahead. Then that just stopped and players dribbled around instead of passing.

I tried to be optimistic for several years but with our talent it must be poor coaching. I'm sick of excuses. Other teams have new players. Other teams have injuries. Other teams have sorry refs. WE LOOK PITIFUL.

If you watched that mess today and thought Holly did a good job, I'm shocked. They were clueless on offense. Holly finally told them to get it to Diamond and get out of her way. It helped but it wasn't enough. I know the outside shooting was not good but to be fair to some of them, they were put in a position where they had to jack up any shot before the shot clock expired. The times we passed the all and whipped it around, they looked good but they reverted to pounding a hole in the floor while staring inside at the post. I have never been to a game and heard the fans this disgusted with the coaching. It seemed like every group I walked by on the way out was talking about it. Holly needs to beg Rick Barnes for some help or something, because she isn't getting the job done at this point.

Thanks for your thoughts on the game. Coach Holly was not the one out on the floor shooting rebounding & playing the game. Some shots we tried to make did not fall in the basket for us in this game & I'm sure there will be other games that this will happen as well. Look....this Lady Vols bb team will not be perfect or as good as UConn ND or Texas & they will NOT win all the games that they will play this season. We will lose some games a long the way. It's not the end of the world. All I can say is don't watch the games they play this season if it upsets you that much.

To all recruits and parents who may be reading this hot mess of a message board: Do not take the drivel posted here seriously. Please. Tennessee has a passionate fan base. Unfortunately, there are some fans who don't have a clue. If they had their way, there would be a new coach in every sport for every game. They are perpetually dissatisfied and always think they know best as they sideline coach from their couches and nosebleed seats. Today, I sat in front of a man and woman who kept up an annoying commentary throughout the entire game. It was obvious they didn't know a thing beyond what they wanted to be true of the players, coaches, or game plan (not what was actually true). At the end of the game when it was obvious the game was lost, Holly called a time out. Their question was, why bother? They never considered the fact that Holly was teaching. But the real winner was when the man wondered aloud why Holly hadn't played the "white girls." Those are the same people who wind up here. Take it with a grain of salt.

Whether you like Holly or don't. Whether you like the roster or don't. If you semi understand basketball you have to be able to see this is a different offensive system than the past three seasons that Holly has been HC. They are not running a transition offense no matter what is said by anybody. People and Holly can say this or that - but what is happening on the court is a HS level twin post half court offense with players whose strength is transition. The players are not in rhythm and are thinking too much. So the shooting % goes down with the confidence level. If she wants fired she is well on her way. DeShields is so talented she can play in any system, but she has to be second guessing transferring to UT at this point.

Holly better abandon this lunacy quickly.

Do you honestly believe a recruit cares more about what they may or may not see on a message board over what they clearly see being played out on the basketball court? If you do, you just insulted the entire group of them and their families because they are far more intelligent than that.

I never said they cared more about it. However, it can certainly be used in negative recruiting, especially given the fanbase's penchant for demanding a coaching change every time a team loses, which can lend an air of instability. The women's program is perfectly stable, but other programs will use whatever fodder they can to try to sway a recruit.

If you believe some recruits don't take notice of how a certain element of the fan base completely disrespects the coach, and in such a vicious manner, then you need to think again. It's very off-putting and utterly uncalled for.

Tea is a big time freshman that should be talked about amongst the top freshman in the country. Instead all you heard today as his great of a freshman Texas has. This happens every year where we have this Mickey D all American player that is supposed to make this big impact that disappoints. Why are the freshmen from other teams flourishing but not ours? Could it be coaching and developing? If yes, then we have the answer to why we can't get any future recruits

I understand what you are saying but you posting fan's comments about white girls not plying gives a negative portrayal of our fans in general and is cause for more concern that fans complaining about coaching.

There is no stage like Tenn anywhere, well Uconn, some freshman know how to embrace the big stage, for some they never will, for some it happens later, its too early to write off Cooper.

Good thing you posted this, we might have lost a recruit or two. Fortunately, you saved us with your references to people complaining about the coach at the end of the game today and veiled racism of UT fans, neither of which would have been known by recruits had you not mentioned them.

It's like you've convinced yourself you're so smart that you don't realize how stupid most of your ideas are.
