Style we play makes teams shoot FTs poorly. They are gassed and their legs are dead. They shot way more than us but makes were essentially even.

Past teams would never have survived a game officiated like this. The fact that we had 13 more fouls (14-27) and still won handily is remarkable, really.

Have to wait and see how good a team MTSU is lost a couple players from last year. Just glad to win shooting 41 percent. The three and winning the boards and turnovers carried us through.

I don’t know if they’ll win 30 again but I’d be very surprised if they aren’t back in the dance

Not tonight. They aren't the same team that played UNC and Carson-Newman tonight. That version of the team would already have 100 and chasing 20 steals, if not already there.

Yes, tonight. They controlled the tempo and pace of the game. They forced steals, force a 10 second violation (that took the refs 20 seconds) to call, and had key blocks/turnovers.
What you expect them to do when the officials are calling fouls that one-sided?
Tennessee scored 89 points on an off shooting night. And a good number of that production came off of defense and transition.

They returned everybody but one starter. They returned majority of their scoring. They are a very solid team and very well coached.

They could hit a much higher % if they would run some plays for the shooters on the team and they have a bunch of them,There are some really bad shots being put up right now.

They also lost by double digits. We got way more shots than they did. Thus, we don't have to shoot 55% to win tonight.

Alright 3-0 as this team learns how to play with each other in both sides of half court. Coach has said over and over we have to get better in half court eventually with enough practice and film you see the little things that make you better. So much to improve but yet still looking good because of our all out hustle and relentless play and timely made 3's . Go Lady Vols. In CHRIST Alone

Makes me suspect it was less of a DEI hire and more of a performance based hire (Non basketball related, blonde ref is making someone happy).

The most impressive thing to me about this team is the effort being put out by all players on the team.....they fight for every rebound and anything on the floor ....max effort is impressive. There is so much more potential on this team that needs cultivating both offensively and defensively.....

IMO, they are coached as well as any team in America, this was a good win.

Honestly that is not saying much as our last several years of LVs have not been very good on D.

Our first two games this year were against teams that were overmatched athletically so they should have dominated in all phases.

MTSU is an increase in competition but not to the level of SEC athleticism. Our press has barely resulted in 10 TOs this game.

Agree, it is still early in the season and being aggressive in press takes time to understand & see how the other team attacks it. Definitely can improve but we just look slow in double teaming the ballhandler and our middle rover has been late on every pass over the top. As athleticism of competition improves, quick decisions and angles become very important to a successful press.

Your not getting it.. the few folks giving you a thumbs up are NVs. For months, over half of this board has tried to nitpick every single aspect of Coach Caldwell system.
Tonight, her team controlled the tempo of this game and won while still learning to play as a team in addition to ridiculous officiating.
The press did its job in this game as it will going forward.
I’m not trying to get in all that talk about stuff that is irrelevant, the press is going to cause havoc and caused havoc tonight.
Boyd, Cooper, Latham, and Spencer made plays defensively tonight that they will make against any SEC team.
