Big win for Tennessee. Looking at the box score, I thought they played much better than they their statistics. Over-all, they didn’t shoot that well and had too many turnovers, but their defense was elite and they exploited their size advantage by bottling up Arkansas’ speedy guards and dominating the boards. They basically took away Arkansas preferred gameplan.

Great win! A total team effort.

Spear: 13 points, 8 boards, 7 assists - maybe could've gotten the triple-double had we needed her to play more.

Hollingshead: 14 points, 10 boards, 3 assists - maybe her best game this year. Hopefully it's a breakout game and this builds her confidence.

Jackson: 21 points, 9 boards - just solid and played much more within herself today, didn't force anything.

Key: 6 points, 4 boards, 2 blocks - not the most amazing stat line, but I was encouraged by how aggressively she was looking for her shot. This game matched her second most field goal attempts this season (and I think probably the most shot attempts per minute).

We held Arkansas 18 points under their scoring average, 7% below their FG%, 9% below their 3pt. %. They're also 9th in the entire NCAA at free throw rate and we really kept them off the free throw line (only 5 attempts).

Yeah recruiting woes on full display. Outside of our starting 5 we don’t have anywhere to go.

So if anyone is in foul trouble or having an off night it’s a huge gamble. You have to hope Tess scores more on 3s than she gives up on defense, hope Jill has entered the building or hope Kaiya is on target and under control.

Striplin is a talented kid but she just can’t compete against SEC level competition in the post. Her best games are always against mid-majors. Maybe she’ll come alive in the tournament but I just don’t see her contributing much.

How can she contribute from the bench ? check her numbers minutes played and points scored and more than several playing more. I believe she will leave in the portal and start for another sec team and excel
