We won the game convincingly and played good team defense. Especially impressed with Powell's defense.

Powell is an above average ball handler; however, in the second quarter she became a shoot first point guard which is unacceptable with Jackson and Spear on the floor. It is an issue, when you are the point guard and continue to take contested shots with out Jackson or Spear touching the ball. Powell has a good shot and should let it fly as long as Jackson or Spear have had a touch. We scored 27 in the first quarter and 13 in the second largely because we stopped doing what got us the lead. Give the ball to Jackson or Spear. Basketball is a simple game, don't make it hard.

Watching Jackson play tonight and move defenders (legally) off the bounce, it makes the Alabama game even more frustrating. Alabama's flops took her completely out of rhythm. Officiating matters!

Over-all, they didn’t shoot that well and had too many turnovers, but their defense was elite and they exploited their size advantage by bottling up Arkansas’ speedy guards and dominating the boards. They basically took away Arkansas preferred gameplan.

It's the low turnover games that we tend to lose and lose badly.

And which team would that be because Alabama is set in the post for the next 3 years, she can't play Auburn Defense, Vandy has Washington. You think South Carolina or LSU is looking?
