Game Thread: Tennessee (15-8, 8-3 SEC) versus No. 1 South Carolina (23-0, 10-0) @ Food City Center, 2/15, 7:00 PM (EST), ESPN

I would like to have seen if Edie could run the point and actually find open teammates. But you don't we experiment when you're playing even with the only undefeated team in the country after three quarters.

Not comparable at all… we also played Tess knowing there wasn’t a chance she could even get a shot off.

Acting like she hasn’t played in big games before coming to UT is insane. If anything she’s played in way bigger games than Kaiya

Putting in the walk-on to play PG would have basically been the victory cigar. Raven Johnson would have feasted on her.

Thought Karo did a good job setting screens and then rolling to open area. Unfortunately, missed the shot that her move created.

Another time, she was wide open at the top of the key just beyond the three-point line, where she has been very effective her whole career, and the ballhandler just forced up a shot. Similar to Puckett being ignored several times despite having a hot hand.

Imo, that situation needs to be addressed immediately.

If we're not smart enough to know and do these things now, we'll never be....The season is three-quarters or more over.

And let me say this, I don’t think or see any reason why Jillian Hollingshead would enter the portal. She had a good season as a sophomore. Started off having a great off-season and then got injured. I would believe her main priority this off-season is to get healthy.

Tennessee likely focuses on the wing and true center positions in the portal. Talaysia and Kaniya will get a look at the guard positions and the decision of Jewel Spear will factor in the core of the team.
If Kellie is gone the new coach will clean house but I think I would keep spears and wells

Off topic, but did you guys see the shot that Caitlin Clark set the NCAA scoring record with last night? She receives a pass
in the back-court, crosses half court line, take ONE dribble into the front court, on the left, and launches a jumper that had to be very close to 30 feet
from the basket and drains it like it was a 12-footer. She was at least six feet behind the 3-line, I'd estimate, which would make it more than 28 feet, if not more. Crazy.

Looks like Hollingshead has checked out for the rest of the season. She wanted no part of Watkins in the game. No joke just look at the replay of the game. At one point you can see KJH get pissed with her play.
I agree. At one point I was looking for her and she was standing in the corner behind the three point line.

Yet she continued to sub her and not Karo

The shot was amazing, but she traveled at the beginning and end of the possession and it's all I can see when they show the clip. When she receives the pass, she takes two full steps with the ball in her right hand before starting to dribble. And at the end, she takes three steps after picking up her dribble, too. I don't know why I care about it so much, but it's so obviously traveling that I can't overlook it. I guess the referees could, though. I can't imagine having to guard her when she gets that kind of leeway. What's the point of even having the rules these days?

Glad someone else mentioned it but for all the shots taken at Jewel Spear, PaoPao scored 4 pts, generational freshman 5 pts, and Raven 2 pts.

And actually PaoPao traveled on one field goal but the officials didn’t call it..

Spear missed some good looks.. created some looks and got to rim but couldn’t score.

It wasn’t her night.

But I recall a NV saying PaoPao would score 50 pts on Tennessee and the self-proclaimed LV fans and SEC fan club/SC fans from Twitter on here have said nothing about her poor performance.

Don’t tell me crap about this being a LV forum.. cause the way you all put SC and LSU on a pedestal it’s just as much their forum.

Also, I have a question. Based on the game last night, give me one good reason why anyone thinks Tennessee can’t compete with SC for the rematch?

I don’t want to hear it’s senior night. Give me a basketball reason.

No, I don’t follow Iowa basketball.

Because they lost by 11 already on their court and struggle playing away. 2 points by Key and Spear and 7 points from the four off the bench.

Oh you mean like what actually did happen with PaoPao getting 2 open 3s and Raven getting 3 WIDE OPEN ones but only hitting one
At least Powell was tuned in on defense. All you'd be doing is setting Avery (or Edie) for failure by putting them in such a pressure cooker and critical situation.
