Game Thread: Tennessee (15-8, 8-3 SEC) versus No. 1 South Carolina (23-0, 10-0) @ Food City Center, 2/15, 7:00 PM (EST), ESPN

Just a question that seems to speak volumes but can’t be answered. Losses seems to bring it back around…easy wins allow it to sit and go unnoticed.
Not at all unanswerable. Were you expecting him to log on and explain himself to you? If it bothers you this much, contact the SID and ask. Or is that you like it to sit so you can use it whenever?

She's only not a starter in name. She usually plays more minutes than Chloe. I think Chloe has better chemistry to start games and is a better passer than Ashlyn, and she executes the high-low game with Kamila better. Also, Ashlyn is the primary backup for Kamila at the 5, and Dawn probably doesn't want to risk early foul trouble for both.

i was thinking Feagin is Cardoso backup

From the game recap: "Before Thursday night’s loss to the Gamecocks, Tennessee ranked No. 44 in the NCAA Evaluation Tool, which is used in the selection process. It was projected as a No. 11 seed in the tournament. Tough games at Vanderbilt, home with No. 13 LSU and Texas A&M, then the regular-season finale at South Carolina remain."

I think TN win the Vandy game. Maybe it's just me but i think Vandy is a little overrated. If you look at some of there losses have yet to beat any team in the top 25 just my thinking.

I’d settle for just a brief quick hit from a poster that says “___ is what he excels in” (non husband related)

Topics to fill in
Scouting/Film
Recruiting
Development

Any of those should be easy to defend and if it’s something else, that should be clear too.

Sam - “ace recruiter” - debatable
Joy - forwards, up and comer coach, acknowledged for award, strong recruiter

Wait, you’d rather have a random posters opinions on this burning question than from the real life folks who employ him? Says it all.

ESP when you,ve been told by multiple posters Jon helps Joy with posts and forwards and appears to be Rickeas in game coach.

On a coaching staff in any sport, you can point to the coach and say this is what they are responsible for and here is the production.

Another big ESPN game that we can't win . How many in a row is this ? yeah we fought hard but as someone above mentioned , i'm over moral victories.

Looks like Hollingshead has checked out for the rest of the season. She wanted no part of Watkins in the game. No joke just look at the replay of the game. At one point you can see KJH get pissed with her play.

Ok he’s Rickeas position coach in practice and responsible for her in games. The production is she’s one of the best players in the country and a lottery pick. That do?

Why does Joy need help? He specializes in redundancy?

He takes sole credit for that? Or was she preprogrammed before she arrived? Jon make her a lottery pick or is RJ being awesome help his role? Who’s say Karo or Key in game coach?

I thought that for the most part that Kitts, Watkins and Cardoso were the primary post players, with Watkins playing both spots. Feagin seems to have had an uptick in minutes recently. Maybe that's changing the rotation. I remember that in another game this year, they went with the giant lineup with Feagin playing the wing alongside Kitts and Watkins in the post. I'm not sure Sania is a natural 5. She seemed to struggle last night guarding any of Tennessee's 5's (Key, Hollinshead and Striplin). But she's a really efficient offensive player.

Asked and answered many times and you know it. My observation fm the few practices I’ve seen is he coaches the wings more and Joy the true posts. Though both help with all. Also I’m sure both have other background duties which the SID can outline for you.

Profoundly disagreeing with the hubby working for the wife is one thing. But pretending it’s a firable offense that you’re not clear on his exact duties, and won’t try to find out, is just laughable.

Nope I’m done. Back in the death loop where if they don’t develop to suit you it’s Jon’s fault but if they do it’s someone else credit. No use doing it again.

Joy talks to Key and Strip a lot in games, mirroring her practice role. And Kellie coaches all of them in games as well.

Thank you. So now we can tab him as a mediocre coach who’s underdeveloped wings. The fireable offense is tagging along for 20 years with no equity to hang your hat on. Hard to overcome when you coach at a place like Tennessee and your wife is the head coach. He needs to be a coach who doesn’t draw questions in a program treading water.

Why do people think the portal solves every player issues following a difficult season👆?

Not all struggles or lack of success is the fault of the team.

I don’t know who enters the portal from Tennessee this off-season but if a player(s) decided to leave I wouldn’t blame the program.

Every player on the roster has gotten a fair chance.. other than perhaps Kaiya Wynn.

How pissed does Harper ever actually get? I think that's her problem--and it certainly was one of Warlick's problems. Good, demanding coaches will seriously get into the grill of under-performing players and demand better. There are times when a genuine brass tacks reaction is needed--not a pretend you're tough approach. Hollingshead has been a massive disappointment this year. Where's the intensity?

It appears to me that Hollingshead is preoccupied with whatever her foul count is. Once she gets a foul is called on her, I've noticed she gets a little more hesitant and timid.

She may be over-conditioned to worry about fouling by coaches telling her she has GOT to avoid foul trouble because they don't know how long Tamari can go.

Just my observation. Could be wrong.

IMO, Jillian just needs to relax and play. Her worrying makes her tight.

LOL! Did I hurt your little feelings? I’m tired of that crap product she puts on the floor. Yea, keep defending her and the program. It’s embarrassing that the program has fallen as far as it has and it’s not improving. Pat has to be shaking her head.

First of all, Pat has a glorious existence that does not include earthly things, so you can stop worrying about "Pat."

But if Pat were here, she'd disown the pretend "fans" who stroll in from the fb forum a few times we very decade just to try to get a rise out of people who actually support the team.

I'm just shocked...shocked, I tell ya...that you weren't pleased that someone actually quoted your brilliant homily.

Alas, we can't please everybody.

In vino, veritas

Really can go either way, I think. If Vandy comes out hitting from deep and can keep their posts out of foul trouble, I think they will be a headache.

if Jill doesn't opt for the portal,,,i will be stunned
I think it's hard for rising seniors to go to the portal because they only have 1 year of eligibility and need to play 2 years at their new school to get a degree. So unless she's graduating this spring, she'd either have to sit a year or pay for a year.

I think they read your posts, so you can put in for a paycheck from the U.
