Im not sure which you all are talking about but I know the little girl singer "Emi Sunshine" wrote a song.

She plays in Gatlinburg alot and apparently a firefighter knocked on her door of the Rv and told her they needed to leave that the fire was close but her driver wasn't with them.

Some LA couple overheard and the man told her he could drive an Rv and drove it to pigeon Forge for her. Ket me see if I can find the link to the story.

If you haven't heard the little girl sing take a minute to look her up. She is 12 and already been on the Grand Ole Opry. Very talented.

Update on the Sky Lift: They hope to rebuild and be open sometime mid to late spring 2017.

The Sky Lift is just a ride, lookout point, and photography attraction in downtown Gatlinburg. Not too much to do up top.

The Aerial Tramway(pictured below) to Ober Gatlinburg is a different attraction entirely.

I don't think it's functioning right now. I think they still have to do some inspections for damage before they reopen.

As for the actual ski lifts up in Ober Gatlinburg I haven't heard any news that they sustained any damage.

I'm talking about the one of the two guys hiking to chimney tops that was dated on 11/23, they day that fire started. Think we may be talking about two different things but I'm not sure.

-Ober Gatlinburg's Tramway Re-Opened Yesterday After It Was Cleared By Multiple Engineers.

The tale I have been told is that a woman who was on the trail the day the fire started went back and looked at the photos she had taken when the police asked for help. She found pictures that showed the two boys in the background flicking matches into the woods. So it seems possible no one actually saw them doing it until after the fact. I can't imagine any adult watching kids doing that and simply ignoring it. One of them is 15.

The football team was up here tonight signing autographs for the kids from area schools tonight. They sent vouchers home for the kids and my daughter was lucky enough to get to go. So proud of the young men on our football team. Every single one of them were class acts.

I saw where Don King is going to visit Gatlinburg and pass out frozen turkeys to those that are suffering. What are those poor people supposed to do with a frozen turkey if they don't have an oven because their house burned down? Is he giving them an oven to cook them in too?

Random side not but I'm leaving with the family on Thursday and headed to gatlinburg for Christmas.....I'm going to try and check out some of the areas that were hit the hardest

Update:

Alamo Steakhouse is rebuilding and aim to be open by fall.

Gatlinburg Skylift opened today! They've fully installed a new, larger chair lift which now seats 3 people instead of just two.

The rebuilding of The Lodge at Buckberry Creek will be slow but for now they are about to open the only remaining lodge on the property which is the Woods Lodge.
