Geno called out on Parker

Great comeback. It must have taken hours to come up with that.

Ever wonder how Coach Summitt would feel about a supposed LadyVol fan that would root for Team USA to lose?

I don't carewhat pat would think, I don't want to see Geno with any success. He wins at the olympics and it's another feather for his recruiting cap. I'm tired of that dude winning and want to see him lose. Then have the USA team get pissed because Parker wasn't there, Holly beat his ass the next four years and be the next USA coach and we win the gold. Go Lady VOLS basketball and screw Geno!

How's that for a comeback!!! B****

Ford westerns sans Wayne - :ermm:
Drums Along the Mohawk
My Darling Clementine
Wagon Master
Sergeant Rutledge
Two Rode Together
Cheyenne Autumn

Ford made 11 westerns with Wayne so apparently he did that in at least a third of the westerns he made.

It's like having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without peanut butter. Or jelly.

And those were his choices too, just like it was GA choice not to include Candace.:)

From the looks of the first half, Tamika is going to do a lot of sitting, unfortunately.

Get used to it. If the exhibition schedule was any indication, Catch will be the last player in the rotation. Purely coincidence I'm sure...

After we were up by 40?

Team USA was up by 40 before half time. I think that Catchings started in the 2nd quarter. According to the PBP she was in the game at 9:23 of the 2nd - rebound.

Bottom line: If Geno had wanted Candace on the team, does anyone on this planet really think she would not be on the team?

Well duh! Of course he didn't want her on the team. All you have to do is look back to the 2012 games to figure out why.
He and Callan have repeatedly stated that they didn't necessarily pick the best players choosing instead to pick the best players that fit the team.

I think you don't know much about basketball. All you know is Con.

He didn't pick the best players that fit the team. If he did then Candace would have been on it. She had 21 points and 11 rebounds in the gold medal game in 2012. You're trying to tell me she doesn't fit? Get out of here with that crap.

Everytime I watch them play the ONLY thought I have in my mind is...."Why isn't Candace on this team"....it's honestly boring. The women winning the Gold is a foregone conclusion every Olympics, I only wanted to watch because of Parker and Catch....no Parker....limited Catch...makes a boring Olympics for me as far as women's basketball goes.

I hope Geno isn't the coach in 2020, if he is and DD becomes the player we know she can be, more than likely we won't see her play in the Olympics either. When asked about DD transferring some time back, he said UT is used to dealing with the type of player DD is
......hmmmmmmm wonder what he meant by that.

I used to respect Geno for his accomplishments....4 in a row is quite a feat, however it gets harder and harder to maintain that same level of respect when I think about the way he's done Parker. She didn't deserve not to be able to represent her team on the Olympic level. She's an all world talent so she deserves that spot!

Geno's Olympic tenure was supposed to be only for 2012 and 2016. I swear if he's the coach in 2020, he will be petitioning for a rule change so that Diana and Sue can bring their walkers with them onto the court...

That's pretty pathetic. You are willing to see one of the best players ever to wear a Lady Vol uniform lose her chance at another gold medal just to satisfy your hatred of her coach? And apparently your hatred of Auriemma even exceeds any national pride in the women's team.

That's the part I don't get. Catchings I guess is just chopped liver. Then again hate seems to be much easier for people to gravitate to in this world. Same reason why the news is filled with all the bad things that are happening that day rather than any of the good.

Happy or grateful or hopeful threads don't get too far. Anyway, did you see how intently Catchings was listening and nodding in the huddle yesterday? She's a real warrior. That is so hard to find not only in sports but in people. What's even more amazing is that I doubt her hearing has anything to do with why she listens so intently. I think it's just the stuff she's made of as they say.

Catchings is a wonderful person inside and out. #lovecatch

Personally I would have had Parker on MY team. I am willing to say though, that I might have been wrong in that. Watching this team, I'm not sure where she would fit.

She's definitely not a 1/2/3 so she wouldn't replace Bird/DT/Whalen/Augustus/McCaughtry/Moore/Catchings. I would not take Parker over Fowles/Charles/Griner in the Post. Parker is not really a post, at least defensively. She's a 4, but not really a stretch 4. (Sure she can be a point forward, but this team doesn't need that when you have Bird/DT/Whalen). And as stretch fours, EDD and Stewart have much better range. I really can't see where Parker would fit in on this team. I like Parker, I think she's a great player. But after watching what they want to do with this team, I don't really see where she would have fit in.

I think the committee might have gotten this one right, against my judgement.
