Current Stats for Parker, DD, and Stewart

DD = 41.9
CP = 40.3
BS (haha her initials are BS, go figure) 34.3

FG%
DD = 48.5
CP = 46.2
BS = 45.4

Assist
DD = 1.8
CP = 5.1
BS = 3.5

The numbers speak for themselves. Committee is wrong.
And this whole idea that Geno and the committee picked players that would play as a team and be productive .... the only other player right now that is avg. more assist than CP is Sue Bird. So this notion of, "Well, she isn't a team player", BS (and no I don't mean B. Stewart)

I agree that Stewart and Delle Donne deserve a spot. Parker should have been on the team ahead of McCaughtry or Fowles, possibly Augustus. Those three are outstanding players and have been playing fine in the tournament. However, I can't see how any committee in good faith could not select Parker ahead of these three. I love Catchings, but she's largely on the team due to her commitment to US Basketball and of course her excellent hustle. Additionally, I think the team should have a young guard on the roster to bridge the gap.

I used to respect Geno for his accomplishments....4 in a row is quite a feat, however it gets harder and harder to maintain that same level of respect when I think about the way he's done Parker. She didn't deserve not to be able to represent her team on the Olympic level. She's an all world talent so she deserves that spot!

It's like watching a UConn reunion. 4 of 5 starters are UConn. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if Geno didn't start Stewart at center.

The best player in the world can't "not fit" on the Olympic team. She could have replaced any post player because she's better than all of them. And it wasn't the committee who made the decision. The only reason she isn't on the team is because of Geno's spite. He's a coward for hiding behind the committee.

Oh, please, Parker is better than EDD or Stewart & is way more versatile. A normal coach would select the best players and build a scheme for them, but Geno only knows one scheme, I guess.

Hate to respond to sycophantic ucon trolls but if age is the criteria why are Bird and Taurasi playing so much? Will they burn out,since both are close to Catching's age? Oh,that's right,they both played at ucon.

Not really for what they want the position on the NT to do. Or at least what they have been doing the first 3 games.

Well it is a pretty damn good scheme. 11NC's, 2 WC's, 1GM, probably not a scheme I'd go away from.

Poor meyer surely has dislocated a few joints trying to sidestep the point, which isn't that the U.S. can't win gold without Parker. That was never the issue. The issue always was that Parker belonged on the team, and that geno kept her off.

Put up with what? Is it that we want you to support your charges?

Many on this board say that Geno kept Parker off the team out of animus but not one has ever offered a shred of evidence that he even dislikes her. Then you take it for granted that he then somehow bullied the selection committee into not voting for her. You assume that the selection process was a sham and yet again never offer one bit of evidence to support that either. Those are two huge assumptions that are unsupported with any facts and yet are treated here like the word of god.

UConn has won 9 of the last 14 titles with a slew of all- americans and NPOY's and a hall of fame coach. Then those same players have moved to the pros and won MVP's and titles there. And yet still I read here how those players only get on the national team because Geno was their college coach. The bitterness toward the Connecticut program by a small but very vocal segment on this board is palpable. It has reached the point where some here say they are rooting against the US team. And suggesting that there is similar hatred toward Tenn displayed on the UConn board is simply not true.

And nothing has been posted here by a UConn fan that even comes close to the way some LV fans have commented here about their own team.
