Georgia does not deserve the Sugar Bowl

The fact that arguably the most talented team in the SEC lost at home to a 4 win team with their third string QB...It shows me he needs absolutely elite talent to win at a high level and even so, he still loses to VASTLY inferior teams and loses the biggest games he coaches in.
lol upsets happen all the time. Kirby has a winning record against top 10 teams, so you’re basing this off nothing but your bias. Basing an entire coaches resume off one game tells me all I need to know about you.

Kirby walked into a talented roster I give him credit for not messing it up but Spurrier walked into a terrible Duke team in 1987. Could Kirby do that go to a lesser school and win big? I seriously doubt it.
There’s no way to know. Kirby has a winning record against top 10 opponents and is an elite recruiter. His track record says he most likely could, but we’ll never know.

Georgia fans absolutely insist on learning things the hard way, EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.

It’s not Kirby’s fault he waited for a better job opportunity than Spurrier.
He took over a good situation...He built nothing, therefore he's proven nothing...Again, Georgia fans have to learn these things the hard way, it's in their freakin' bone marrow.

Dude... you’re choosing to base his career off one game, while ignoring the big picture. Kirby has a winning record against top 10 teams. Maybe you should worry about Mullen who has a significantly worse record against ranked teams and is winless against Smart.

Mississippi State=Duke

He took over a team with a frosh QB, best player coming off a blown out knee, and lack of depth on the both lines. He then won the conference and made the playoffs in year 2 with another frosh QB because the starter went down week 1. He took over a good situation and turned it into a great situation. Richt had UGA competitive once every 5 years. Smart has had UGA competitive every year but the first.

No excuse to lose to Georgia St. no matter what if your Tennessee. That loss was squarely on Pruitt and the coaching staff probaly cost us a few recruits as well.

I’m sorry but it’s a two street. Pruitt wasn’t physically on the field as a player. It’s clear there was a lot of bad apples on the team and they got ran off. It’s no coincidence we got better when they left.

I don't follow Georgia closely, but I'm assuming you do...Tell me, and be honest now, did Richt ever have a home loss as bad South Carolina in his career at Georgia?

You guys are overlooking what Spurrier did at south carolina too. For those counting, that's 3 historically bad schools Spurrier was able to turn around.

We weren't a historically "bad" program, but I get your point...Spurrier built things everywhere he went, he didn't walk into really good situations and maintain or slightly elevate.

He absolutely did. He lost to multiple South Carolina teams with losing records. He lost to unranked Colorado and had a losing season (6-7) capped off with a loss to UCF. Richt had a great first four years, but only had UGA in contention once every 5 years. 2002, 2007 (due to multiple teams with 2 losses), and 2012. So basically Richt had 3 years in 15 total where he had UGA in the hunt. Smart has had 3 in his first 4 years. Could he eventually crash and burn like Richt? Absolutely, but saying he will because Richt did isn’t logical. Richt’s tenure is irrelevant to Smart like Mac’s is to Mullen or Butch’s is to Pruitt.

You guys were just slightly above mediocre before he got there which I wouldn't consider good, especially looking at your program now. But yeah to my point, kirby couldn't do that and shouldn't be in the same conversation as the Ol' Ball Coach.

I'm not sure if phrased the question wrong and if I did, that's an error on my part...But what I was aking was, did Richt ever have a HOME loss to a team that was worse than this years edition of South Carolina?

For the sake of the fairest comparison, Kirby took over a team that went 10-3 each of the previous two years and won 44 of 56. Richt took over a team that went 8-4 each of the previous two years and he won 42 of 52.

Who played tougher schedules? Tennessee was obviously much better back in the day. Auburn was probably slightly better. Florida was probably about the same back then? GT was better back then, too. Those are your big 4 opponents every year.
