They had stupid Espin campaigning hard for them. It defied all reasonable logic to let them in, because they lost their conference title game. I'm nega about the team's direction this year, but last year, the Vols was the 3rd best team in the nation and even with the two conference losses, they should have still made the playoffs.

So who are you leaving out? There are 5 conferences with champions. It is possible that 3 of them will be undefeated and the other one beat BAMA.

One or more of the conferences is left out every year. 2023 may be the SEC's turn.

Tough to see a scenario where bama doesn't get into the playoffs. Only way I see it happening is for FSU and Michigan to both win. That leaves a final 4 of Michigan, Washington, FSU and Texas. Can't see them giving OSU the nod over bama. Surely they won't ignore head to head with bama and texas.
