I’m not sure I’d pick GA over TX if they play like they did today.
That’s a valid opinion. I’m just saying I trust Smart more than Sark, and I’d go with UGA if I put money on it. Texas is certainly worthy of a playoff spot.

A subplot not being mentioned but should. They won’t have to defend their case because they go to 12 next year. So they can totally put Bama in and not have to worry about setting a precedent

I strongly disagree. Texas has the head to head and is a one loss conference champion. If you do that, the games on the field and head to head match ups don't matter.

By that same logic is South Florida as good as Alabama cause they played them tough in September?

The playoffs aren't about one game. It's about the entire season. Alabama just beat the #1 team in the country that has been undefeated for two straight seasons. That's better than anything Texas has done. Also Texas lost a bad Oklahoma team which is worse than anything Alabama did.

Alabama has the far better win and the far better loss. A game in September can't supercede everything else that has happened.

True. Slipped my mind Washington already winning.

Sucks for Florida St if they beat Louisville convincingly...and I retract my earlier statement. Even with Sankey pulling purse strings, don't see how 2 SEC teams make it this year.
Michigan and FSU have to both lose to get Georgia in

Just makes it easier to insure that Bama and Ohio State will always have a seat at the playoffs table.

You can’t keep out an undefeated power 5 team that won their conf championship for a 1 loss sec team that didn’t win theirs

Funny thing is Georgia at 1 loss should probably get in over Texas. Vegas would favor them by a wide margin.

Lol. I’m fine with some of that sentiment and I agree with reviewing the entire resume. But the irony of you saying “Bama has a far better loss” when the loss is by 10 at home to the team you’re arguing should be left out…

Tennessee lost to South Carolina or we were in. Blame goes on the team for that. I wouldn't be upset either way. But use some type of logic here. Who's really better than Alabama or Georgia?

The answer is nobody. So if we're taking the best four teams, then it's Alabama, Georgia and Michigan plus some mystery team.

We have too many haters in our population. It is at epidemic or even crisis levels. Really getting out of control.
Your opinion (and that’s all it is) would be valid IF Bama had taken care of business against Texas. They didn’t. Texas beat them badly at Tuscaloosa and like the commentator on CBS said just now, I don’t care when it happened. It happened and you can’t ignore it. As stated earlier, I guarantee you the committee is pulling hard for Louisville so they can put Texas and Bama in.

That far better loss was in September. To the team you are trying to devalue. Never stop stopping, D4H.

Great minds and whatnot.

Yes the committee is no doubt pulling hard for FSU to lose so they don't have to choose between Texas and Bama and then defend it.

The worst case for the committee would be for Iowa to win. Oh boy that would be interesting.

Losing to a team in the playoff conversation is better than losing to a team outside the top 10. Also Alabama has the best win in the sport after taking down the 2x defending champs. You can't just focus on one game from September even if it's head to head.

Also you know Alabama would be favored by more than a TD if they played once again. That also has to count for something. It's about the four best teams not the team that beat another team head to head in September.

They were trailing Bama going into the 4th quarter. Bama had a critical turnover that led to Texas scoring again quickly to go from 16-13 Bama to 27-16 Texas in about 2 minutes. The game was much closer than 10 points.

So the flip side to that is Bama is a 4th and miracle away from losing to a team that got throttled by NMSU the week prior.

And why play the games in September or whatever if it won’t matter in the end? Texas won by 2 scores at Tuscaloosa.

I’m not against Bama being in, but so does Texas in that case.
