I agree with this.
From my perspective as a Christian, I'm not quite sure what to think as far as ghosts are concerned. I personally haven't experienced anything that would suggest their existence, but I can reasonably agree with what you posted about some people being able to perceive things that others may not be able to. Interesting point.
I am a Christian.
Now if there is something paranormal that interacts with you (says your name, says "get out", touches you, etc. all popular reports of paranormal interactions) it's demonic. It is attempting to scare you. You should not fear it, that is what it wants. We as God's children are only to fear God, BUT demonic entities are not to be tampered with. This is why I don't go "ghost hunting" like I used to in college. It follows you home. I don't care what your situation is or what your beliefs are, if you go out looking for trouble with things like this you're inviting something into your life that is a whole whole lot more than most humans can handle. You're inviting demons, and yes, demons are very, very real.
Sometimes happens that I can't immediately explain. What should I do?
A. Assume it's paranormal activity.
B. Assume it's God.
C. Both A & B.
D. Search for a scientific answer.
E. Nothing. It was just a sound and I'm going to move on with my life.
All hate towards me should be inserted below this post.
I have mixed feelings about "ghosts".
My rational, logical side dismisses the notion. Various experiences in my life and the testimony of countless others make less hesitant to outright dismiss them.
If they are real, I believe it has something to do with the extra dimensions of reality. Continuing this train of thought, if such is true, it would makes sense that some people are born with abilities to "see"or "feel" dimensions that normal humans can not.
A ghost is a thumb print on time. I call it my "lady in the garden" theory. If a woman gets up at 6 AM on the dot every morning, and walks a certain path through her garden, every day, same path, same garden, she carries her energy with her. If this lady does this same thing, walks this same path in this same garden for 20 years, then passes away, yes you will see her image walking this garden (or where this garden used to be) occasionally. It can't interact with you. It has no life or form of consciousness, it is just an image of something that has happened enough times over the years to (for lack of a better word) "stain" the earth with its image.
On a similar note, take a Civil War soldier. Soldiers are a very popular subject of ghost sightings. This Civil War soldier was on patrol with 3 other soldiers. They are relaxed, walking their route as usual. All of a sudden one of his fellow soldiers on patrol with him gets shot from an unknown location, then the other gets shot. The remaining soldier has a HUGE spike in energy due to adrenaline, fear, etc. then he is shot dead as well. This sudden spike in energy creates that same "stain" on the earth. It lingers. It can't interact, but you may see its image.
Well this was fun but I have no doubt (at least from what time I've spent in the politics forum) that this will turn into some form of debate. I hope it doesn't and we can just get some different perspectives, but here goes.
I am a Christian. I went to school for Pastoral Ministries. I have heard countless tales of ghost/demonic encounters and here are my theories as I believe them:

Size of the dimensions would have nothing to do with anything.
Has everything to do with it. You're talking about perceiving things that are in these extra dimensions as if they existed in our 3 spatial dimensions. Doesn't seem logical.
Interesting take minus the God stuff.
Do you have a better theory for why something paranormal would interact with you?
Or did you say that just to make sure and point out that you don't believe in God? I thought your theory about the extra dimensions not everyone can see was very interesting. Why was mine not interesting? Because it contained "God stuff"?
....my wife and i both saw what appeared to be legs That would come down the hallway towards the front door and only towards the door, never back the other Way towards the bedrooms. The same legs would stand to the right of the TV and when you would look they would vanish.
