Ghosts..... Have you ever seen them?

It's kind of a sensitive issue with me, but it told me it was my son I lost when I was 17.
I would be careful with that. I was always told Ouija boards reach out to the lower astral realm, and only dark spirits and demons/satan answer you. They are extremely powerful and dangerous beings that can read your mind, pretend to be a relative who passed on, manipulate you, they'll answer your questions but at some point they'll turn on you and become very nasty demanding answers from you.

It's been 19 years since I messed with it. The things I see are few and far between. I ask nothing of it. Don't care to. All the things you have stated are true. I found out after the fact and realized what I had done.

That's good then. Three times I have had the opportunity to be apart of using a Ouija board by people who swear by it. Each time I politely turned them down, always have just had a bad feeling about it all.

So Ouija boards really do work? Not being a smartass, just suprised to hear testimony that they are legit. Always been skeptical of them, but never brave enough to fool with one.

Kinda always thought they were a part of that kinda Voo Doo culture that seems to prey on the emotionally unstable or conflicted.

Not a shot at anyone, just an observation.

I mean, if you have something on your mind, and you mess with one, wouldnt it be pretty easy to manipulate it on your own?

Valid argument.

In my personal experience my hands were not on the the board. At all. It moved by itself. No lie. No exaggeration. No BS

That would be a pretty tremendous experience to witness something inanimate move on its own accord.

Spooky to say the least. Since my father passed, I'd be way too afraid to sit down with one.

What I would think to be cool is the ability to communicate with a deceased relative, friend, or even a deceased relative that you never have met.

I speak with my deceased father whenever I want to through concentrated prayer and time spent in the Catholic church. For fear of allowing spirits that are ill tempered through, be it a myth or not, is enough to instill fear in me not to use one.

If what the others have posted is true, I have no reason to believe otherwise, I'd heed their warning that that is a real possibility.

Dont need that drama in my life.

Is there any real ouija board videos on YouTube? I'm very fascinated by this stuff. I never understood how an ouija board is supposed to be used.

My grandmother talks about her and friends using one in nursing school, one girl asked where her boyfriend was, and it spelled out Bougainville, which none of them had ever heard of, being from backwaters in Northern Michigan. I see no reason for her to fabricate something of the sort, so I'll take her word for it. Food for thought.

A friend of mine that invited me to play with her said she had been in contact with her great great grandmother. I was skeptical because of always hearing the spirits will often pretend to be relatives. Her proof that it really was her great great grandmother was that she didn't know her name, nor anyone in the room at the time of asking the spirit. After she closed out the board she called her grandmother to verify the name and it was correct.

You all know that the ouija board was first made as a commercial game? They weren't created to speak with the dead. So how does a board created as a commercial game go from entertainment to opening doors for the dead?

This reminds me of ghost hunters when they go to 100 year old places and hear a creak and proclaim it was a ghost.

My sister received a ouija board as a gift and has talked about using it. I stay as far from it as I can and want no part of it. Too many bad things I've heard associated with it and true stories. I say true stories because there's just as much lack of proof it's fake as there is that it's real.

Depends on what ghost hunters you're watching. Good ones will go to extended lengths to rationalize. If no rationalization can be made it is technically "supernatural" or unexplainable. Ghost adventures is a trash show, IMO. They over react to everything. The old episodes of ghost hunters I really enjoyed.

It was a very good show until they got pseudo celebrity status. Those guys actually did an investigation in an acquaintances house back before they had a show.

Back in the day they were great. They acted in a very professional manner and they were extremely likeable. They were thorough and didn't jump to conclusions. The last few years they have really went down hill. This last season especially. Since grant left it has seemed like a total makeover happened. They have a narrator that will instantly throw you into thinking you're watching ghost adventures. They over react and say "did you hear that? What was that" so many times now. They never even reacted like that before. I almost think they were asked to try to increase ratings.

Long before they was created as a game ancient cultures had been using things similar to a Ouija board to communicate with spirits.
