Giuliani condo/apartment being raided

To seek and execute a search warrant of the President's attorney like this is an extraordinary thing. They know they will face enormous scrutiny and criticism from Trump's base who will claim it is political, even though it apparently started under Trump.

They did not do this without a rock solid reason.

Rudy may have known what he was doing once, but as Trump's attorney it was obvious he need to be carted off to assisted living and put out to pasture. Keeping Rudy around was the thing that should have made anyone question Trump's competence.

I wish both parties thought that way. Or at least one so we'd always have a good candidate. Been awhile since we've seen one of those.

I'm pretty sure that you and I (with one possible exception) have never seen a good candidate, and that means nobody else here has either. Don't know about you, but Truman was president when I was born. Ross Perot was likely the only exception, but we would have had to see him in office to know if he was the real thing or just surface bluster - I tend to go with real thing, but who knows.

Both my parents were born while Truman was in office. I was born when Nixon was in office.

Wow, I thought you were older than that. Does this mean I'm old enough to be your dad?
lol Pretty much. I like to think I have an old soul that my body just can't contain. That's why it's fallen apart on me. I certainly feel a lot older than I am.

Perhaps.

Hard to see Rudy doing that without Trump knowing abiut it. Guess we will have to see what Rudy is willing to admit if charged.

The law needs cause for a search warrant. They would not be raiding his condo if they didn't already have enough on him to go after him harder.

The FISA process had constraints that were supposed to be met, too. The IRS couldn't be used as a weapon against citizens either. There's always a way around a law - probably in Murphy's Laws for Politicians.

The good thing is that Rudy is so senile he probably won't even realize it when hes in federal prison

One of many things. For crying out loud, the man was suggesting people could treat covid by injecting disinfectants.

Good times. I love how the leg-humpers still argue he was as just joking around.

So you've never been around brainstorming a new problem with people throwing out random ideas as solutions? Funny thing is that sometimes an off the wall thought leads to a solution. Nobody was suggesting direct injection or ingestion or bleach, but on the other hand if bleach was so effective in killing the virus, could it somehow be developed as treatment? Very likely not, and very likely a throw away idea, but sometimes even the thought causes a "That won't work, but you know what might ..." Sometimes technology changes and a somewhat simplistic idea that wasn't workable at one time can work because other things make it possible. There usually are no dumb questions - some may just be way out there.

It was a press conference.
