He couldn't even make a BCS game in the Big East. How is he going to magically become a better coach in a tougher league? It doesn't work like that.

I think he better be careful with all these SEC championship promises. If it doesn't work out, he'll be run out of Knoxville Dooley-style in 3 years along with everyone quoting him saying that he was going to get them to championships. Not that I don't have faith in him, but there's a line you can cross with confidence. I hope in a few years we can look back and say he was right though!!

I have no problem with making our fans expect championships. That's the standard we should have.

i will take the other approach. i first said he would get fired after 4 years, after seeing his staff i only give him 3. i'm thinking i won't have to dine on crow. i was down before, but now i just don't know what hart was thinking at all. he maybe brain damaged or something.

Butch jones will win the sec east in 3 years and he will win the sec in 5 years and in 7 years we will be National Champions. Thats what i want to see and he can get it done VFL.

1 year from now we will have finished another losing season, had a crap recruiting class and the sunshine pumpers will be dealing excuses.

By year 3 he will have shown enough improvement to stay. By year 4 we will be competing for the SEC again. Hope I am wrong and it is quicker than that.

I laughed when Florida hired Urb. I thought his soft offense would never win in the SEC.

Coach Jones accepted this job. He wanted to be here. I will support him. I believe he will get it done.

7 wins in 2013.

I don't mind the Jones hire. Not thrilled, but it isn't horrible.

His projected staff blows. I doubt he gets it done. Hope for the best, expect the same.

All you sunshiners talk about him being a winner and winning championships.....

He has a winning record, that is good.

But he is winning the Big East with 3 or 4 losses. That is not something to brag about..

It is a budget hire and we have a 50/50 shot at being decent with him.

I don't think UT wins more than 8 games in the regular season with him.

I hope I am wrong. But I doubt it.

Jones comes in and shocks people with 9 wins. He starts the year at 3-0 with everyone thinking we got a big win over an overrated Chip Kelly-less Oregon team. Loses to Florida, Bama, and UGA while beating everyone else.

Lands the Berry brothers and TK jr.

Peterman makes 2nd team all American behind Manziell.

Too early for a prediction from me. We don't know if bray and hunter will return. We don't know who will replace them if they go. I'm optimistic.

This guy took over a BCS team, one that went to the Orange Bowl, and has never led them back. He actually did worse than the guy before him and his teams were worse than when he took over the job. And now he's some kind of secret Lombardi, magically going to win the SEC when he couldn't win the Big East (And, before you give me that 4 way tie for first crap, tell me if his team got the BCS bowl game)?

I figured it would take a little longer, but the rationalizations and delusional talk has started in full force.

I don't know man at one end of it i want to see my vols get back to the good ole days at the other end of it I don't know if that's going to happen any time soon I hope they do. I think a lot of coaches could come in here and turn this thing around they don't even have to be great HC's all they have to do is hire a Rock Star staff and we would get back to that but I just don't see a Rock Star staff being hired in this situation or at least it doesn't sound like it.

We could lose 8 the first year after juniors go to the NFL and some underclassmen transfer. He is probably a 6-8 win/year coach.
