AND YET...here we are talking about a student athlete's academic record which is the one thing a school never addresses. Hmmmmmmm.
Is it really that hard to fathom that, whatever trouble Golden is/was having, has been an issue since February? Yemi was just let go in April for something that happened in February.
The University hasn't said anything. The AD hasn't said anything. The Coaching Staff hasn't said anything.
People are basing all of this on one unnamed source in one GoVolsExtra article.
Leaks happen all the time. Even some of the most sensitive data out there gets leaked. Doesn't mean something is fishy, just means someone done something that could potentially get them in trouble. Hence the anonymity.
Not at all, I'm just asking why what Golden's dad said about this being an issue since February is unbelievable, given the whole Yemi thing.
In this particular case, why, ...check that...who is benefitted by this particular leak? Not CCM. Not Golden. Who?
According to Golden senior, there is no problem, that Trae is simply leaving to pursue other options. So yes, I have a hard time believing that the Golden's, with no outside issues, suddenly started considering a transfer in February of this year, and then waited till May before pulling the trigger, knowing that Golden is going to have to sit out next year no matter what. Especially considering the playing time he would have gotten this year and the roster UT has for this upcoming season.
That is not what he said.
"Contacted Wednesday afternoon, Robert Golden, Traes father, initially declined comment. He then, however, called Tuesdays reports totally inaccurate.
No, no, no, he said regarding Goldens alleged academic issues. Its not that. My son, hes fine in that area. Hes just going to pursue some other opportunities.
That's what he said. Never claimed that Trae did nothing wrong; in fact, from his quote, it sounds like he's acknowledging that Trae did something wrong, but that it had nothing to do with academics.
Ahh ok.
If Trae knew of his "academic issues" then, I can see him going to his dad and talking about transferring. Especially if he knew there was a chance of him not being able to stay at UT. I personally feel Mr. Golden is withholding some truths, because I would probably do the same for my son.
Humans do stupid stuff, could have been a new person who had knowledge and then responded to inquiries.
My company has a policy on talking to the media in certain situations, we recently had a leak in information. It happens more than it should.
funny how some people read only what they want too and ignore what is right in front of them. "He is just going to pursue some other opportunities," to just about everyone on this planet means. "hey this is Trae's choice, nothing else is going on, he is leaving on his own." I am interested in how you interpret it.
I'm not 100 percent sure, but I don't think Golden is completely innocent.
Are you being this vague because you have no clue what he did, or because you don't want it out there. You seem to be adamant it wasn't academic related, and are now saying golden isn't innocent, but don't provide any sort of alternative situation as to what you think ultimately led to him leaving.

I don't want to look like a fool by saying what I think the possible situation is about and end up being incorrect.
That's what doesn't make sense. If he's a repeat offender then shouldn't he have faced disciplinary action before? Also, who is the name that should associated with this claim? Until proven otherwise, I'll consider this reasoning to be a rumor.
