Is Sir Goony's still open in Farragut? Lol

I remembered Goony's from my old West Knoxville days and it went away and then I moved away. Years later I happened to move to Chattanooga and saw a Goony's on Brainerd Road with those same odd bargain-basement dinosaurs and I knew they must have moved them there from Knoxville. No way there's more than one set. Anyway, don't know if they're still in Chattanooga because I'm not.

Just For Feet
Celebration Station AKA Zuma's
Regal Funscape Arcade(was just outside Regal West Town Mall)

Just For Feet was a great place.

Loved Celebration Station. Parents would drop us off there, buy the all day wristband and give us 20 bucks. Hours later they'd come back.

Funscape was just OK. They tried.

Sir Goonies to my knowledge is open. Best slick track in Knoxville proper.

Y'all know ther is still a Kay's Ice Cream on Chapman Hwy, right?

Also, not on the strip, but did anyone ever eat a Kenny Rogers Roasters when they were in town?
Best rotisserie chicken you've ever had in your life.
Miss that place a lot.

Yes, there was another place called Delights if I recall. Hershel Walker was a partner in the chain

I loved Smoky Mountain Market hot dogs and fries. We stopped there often on our way to the mountains.

Sir Goonies is still in Farragut with the dinosaurs.

How about Gabby's on the strip - was a "fern" bar when it opened but that didn't last given the clientele was a bunch of drunk college peeps.

Any mention of Hawkeye's? Animal Hour was the best. 3 for 1 = a water glass full of liquor.

There was a bar in the hotel up the hill on 17th street that had 2 dollar pitchers (coupon in the Beacon - my wallet was full of those coupons).

There was a gas station/convenient store on Northshore about 2 blocks from Kingston Pike heading towards the lake. It would be on the right heading that direction. They had draft beer that you could buy by the gallon. Had milk jugs and some taps. We used to get a gallon or 2 and head to the Boulevard in Sequoia Hills to play frisbee and smoke weed.

Hawkeyes was my #1 way back in the thread. I miss it. Lots of great times there. My band played one of the hawkeyes X-ma's parties.

Anyone remember Gryphons?

In the 70s, there was a BBQ joint ~west of the campus area that stayed open very late, after all the bars had closed. It had picnic tables outside and served "sandwiches" consisting of bone-in chicken or ribs between two pieces of white bread. Anyone recall this place? Remember the name of it?

Not what you were talking about but there was a place called Brother Jacks that was a BBQ and had pig burgers. Not the greatest neighborhood but good food.

Yes! There used to be one on Western Avenue and 640.

Yes! I used to skateboard down from my grandmother's to that arcade.
There was a Whites Store in that strip center back in the day.

White Stores! Hahaha

You're going back to the 80's with that place. I remember those.

Nope. Sir Goonies is still in business in Farragut.
We used to go to Sir Goonies on Brainard road all the time when I was kid back in the early 80s, so both have been around about the same time. Gocarts, batting cages, and mini-golf. My dad did the owners taxes which got us a nice discount.

This thread is a walk down memory lane.

About 15 years ago there was a restaurant on Peters Rd in that old house. Was is Baker Peters? Or was the restaurant named something else.

Baker-Peters House is at the corner on Kingston Pike. I'm drawing a blank on what it was originally named as a restaurant. I think that the original owners of the Half Shell (Calvin Shipe and Jess Ward) first ran it. I think that it was Hawkeyes Too for a while. Might have been called Abner's Attic briefly.

You're right, it was called Hawkeye's Too at one point.

The only time I ate there it was very nice inside...and pricey!
