Good News on Stokes

And give us some inside/out presence we currently don't have. He will come in right away as our 6th man, and probably start by the end of the regular season. We need scorers, and he can do just that. He is also extremely athletic and will be a matchup nightmare once he gels with the team... assuming he comes of course

Monumental in the fact that top talent might start paying attention. Maybe start a bandwagon effect for great prospects.

If you go in your first year when you haven't even signed a four star yet and get the top player in Memphis, that would definitely qualify as monumental regardless of any other factors that work against us.

I totally believe you, OP. Sounds like you have some ties to UM people that are good natured and well connected rivals. If this does turn out to be true and Stokes comes to UT, imagine what having that knowledge on this board could mean for future UT and VN recruiting bonanzas in Memphis. alumvol08, please be nice to your Tiger friends and pick up the check when they give you more good news.

Sincerely,

I've been blessed to be in good situations in my young life. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone down here is that bad. There are a lot of *******s, but there are also just a lot of fans that are passionate about their University and team. Hopefully we can keep recruiting elite Memphis talent and I can keep getting information.

We WILL keep recruiting that area hard, and it sounds like you'll be able to pull some quality info out of there, especially since most of it will be of the nose-rubbing variety.

Sorry guys, I've been out of the basketball loop this year. Focused on school mostly. If Jarnell comes in January will he be able to play this season?

It don't hurt that Coach Zo and staff have been working Memphis for years either. Thanks for the info OP. That is in line with what has been coming out of the talking heads' mouths in Knoxville. This would be the big fish that gets Coach Zo's program going. Will be waiting and hoping...

He would be an instant star at UT and get to practice in NBA-worthy facilities that neither Memphis or Kentucky can offer

Well, we can all agree that he will be practicing in nice facilities if he comes to UT and will not be coached by a loud man wearing too much hair gel.

I am seriously laughing out loud at work. I hope that was intended to be a joke considering the FedEx forum and all... Hahahaha

I've heard he could play in the second semester, how or why would that be possible? Is that always the case if a basketball recruit graduates HS early and enrolls in January? I've just never heard of it.

If you're an enrolled student, you can play. I'm almost positive it's been done in baseball.

If he enrolls and plays this season, we have him for 1.5 years. The NBA rule is one year after the graduating class. You are correct incipient
