Two weeks before signing day and this is all we could get. We were on the ropes. Getting Gruden would be nice but I don't see it happening. I hope UT goes big on this one and doesn't take a top assistant some where. The next guy has to have HC experience and has to have a winning record. Period!

Who is all them that sucks? Dantoni has excelled, Mike Haywood turned Miami-OH around from last to first in a year (would be at Pitt if not for a fight), we know what Jimbo and Champ are doing. McElwain has seven games under his belt so no conclusions can be drawn. That leaves Dooley Bobby Williams. At least Williams was a .500 coach. The only one who has failed miserably thus far is Dooley. Career average of 5 - 6 over six years.

Even someone like Kirby Smart has better credentials than Dooley. A coordinator on the SEC level is not bad. I would still rather have someone that has a little HC experience.

I was thinking about this earlier: What does Dooley do after he gets fired from UT? He's not qualified to be a OC or DC anywhere... He's never called plays on either side.

NFL position coach? Low level HC?

My guess is he would do nothing football coaching related. IF he did, I think any salary he made would come off the final buyout from UT. Say he took a TE coaching position with Arkansas. If he made 350,000.00 a year, that number would come off the money UT is to pay him. Alot of people give Fulmer crap from a team not hiring him. I think he was getting about 2 million a year from UT. Why would he take a job? I understand a person enjoys coaching. If I can make 2 million sitting on a beach or 2 million working 60 hrs a week, give me the beach.

Pete Carroll threw a monkey wrench in the works. Whether folks like it or not, we'd have been rockin' about now and don't give me that "Oh, we'd be on probation" bulls%*t.

I would take Smart over Dooley going into 2013. At least Smart would give the team a chance at winning. Something new. Going forward with Dooley just tells the players, winning is not important any more.

once you coach at an sec jobyou qualify for mid to low level hc jobs. he has grown from the experience just not enough for us. he can't manage an entire game though.

I look at How Muschamp is doing well and how Spurrier turned a lowly usc into a power and see DD is doing nothing. There's better option in 2013.

Yea it makes sense now why we have all these NFL prospects but still stink really bad. Id say if we had a good coach with the same roster id say we would be a 10 or 11 win team instead of a 6 win team.

It makes mine brain hurt.

If we had a QB that was willing to put this team on his shoulders and disagree with Chaney occasionally, we would have one loss this year or maybe even better.

He isn't a leader. Plus dd doesn't want him to be because that means going against his authority also. bad coaching.

I agree a good coach could get more. But u and this board have dramatically overrated our talent. Look at the plays 9 made last night for Nama. Jhunt did nothing. Worse than nothing and he was the highest rated guy. He is a fool if he leaves early and we likely have 1 guy drafted in the first 3 rounds so there isn't nfl talent all over the field.

they're coached down. despite what dd says they come in pretty good then by year 3 they're demoralized and not coaached well. hunter was much better in 2010. i guess getting told you suck sinks in. no matter how much of a drill seargant saban is i bet he has each player thinking they are the best to ever play that position.

I agree especially on defense but we wasn't the only one praising the offensive talent. We did however have enough talent to beat UGA and MSU. At least go 1-1. Nope. I like the guy and I have been supportive of him but its time to move on. If we wait too long Arkansas will get a better coach and we will be back in a rebuilding phase again with a mediocre coach.

yeah a good coach will get a lot more done besides look ridiculous on a stool. it was like a zoo out there.
