I'm guessing Gorsuch has probably attended more than a few Jewish funerals, and willingly consented to wearing a kippah at those funerals. Why? Because he was requested to do so and refusing to do so would be a major douchebag move and sign of disrespect. Wonder why he's refusing to wear a mask know? Oh I know, because he's trying to be a douchebag and show disrespect for his colleague. MAGA!
Is this about fake respect or health and science? All 9 justices have received vaccines and boosters and are tested regularly. As are the advocates.
To me, the frame of reference here is simply that the other 7 all respected their colleague enough to wear a mask. Gorsuch is the only one who didn’t.
It’s douchey but probably not especially dangerous. I give it a -2 on the scale of public figure bad behavior, which runs from -10 (literally Hitler) to 10 (Dolly Parton).
It says a lot that there are 4 people on this last page who are so hopelessly partisan that they felt compelled to defend Gorsuch from a story they didn’t even bother to read and chose to make things up whole cloth to try to get the job done.
Imagine doing that and still thinking people should take you seriously.
It's a total douchebag move. There's no way he'd refuse to wear a kippah to the funeral of a Jewish colleague.
Then how is the act of needlessly covering ones face a show of respect? If he asks her to wear a propeller hat next session and she refuses is she being a dbag? This story is about respect, as far as I know. I have no idea what the risk delta is to her as a diabetic or if there is any science or data on that.
I thought that was clear from the last paragraph in my post.
