Got an email from CBJ and the SEC Network

FiOS is the mack daddy. Faster internet you can get where I live. Not to mention Uverse is terrible if you have multiple TV's and wifi devices going at the same time. Be thankful.

Yeah. Uverse internet is pretty weak. My neighbor in Detroit had Uverse. Was a big fan of his cable package though and the extra wireless cable boxes were cheap. Right now I'm leaning towards Fios since I already have their internet. So we'll see how it goes.

I have the same problem here. We moved here 4 years ago I was going to get direct when a neighbor warned me not to because it goes out during every storm.

I have Direct, and unless it's raining sheets and buckets, then there is no problem. (It takes a few minutes to adjust itself) OTOH, people who have Charter have lost their cable over this snow storm and still haven't gotten it back on. I'll take the few minutes to adjust over that anyday.

There's this constant drumbeat that the country is going to hell under Obama, but very few facts to back it up. It seems like Fox News has done its job to make people just accept that this administration is a total failure, when it's equally the Republicans' fault for not attempting to work with him on anything.

And if Obamacare (which I'll admit is not much of a solution) ends up being the turning point that eventually leads our country to join the rest of the civilized world and provide free healthcare (yes, I'm aware of the tax-implications) to its citizens, then his presidency will have been a success.

There's absolutely no reason for a country as rich as ours to let its people die or go into impossible debts simply because we value the profits of insurance companies and executives more than we do human lives.

16 trillion means nothing to you. Stupid blind sheep thinking all is ok in the USA.

Nothing in life is free. The ongoing destruction of the healthcare system will add significantly to the unemployment roll and make healthcare very difficult to obtain whether insured, or not. Your insurance will not help you if you cannot find a doctor or an available hospital bed.

Comcast internet gets the PAC 12 network (free) but its not on the Comcast channel lineup for TV ? Any idea why that would be ?

I'm on Comcast and I have P12 Network. Comcast says it's nationwide.

But ESPN isn't a part of the P12 Network, so it's a completely different animal.

LOL now I see it on Comcast but there is only 1 channel - will the SECN be more than 1 channel ? The Big 10 Net has like 5 channels to use (1 free and 4 more with the sports package for an 8 dollar a month fee) Since the SECN is aff with ESPN will it be like Gameplan ?

Its 17 trillion now, but the low information crowd couldn't care less as long as it doesn't interfere with following Beyonce and Justin Timberlake on twitter.

You won't see companies like Comcast and Dish sign on until late in the process, July at the earliest, right before launch.

With ATT UVerse and DirectTV on board, they'll have no choice but to add it. But it'll be last minute.

Get the SEC Network seems Direct TV isnt a done deal - at least at my zip code (61571) I thought you said it was a nationwide thing ?

I have Direct TV too and rarely lose the signal and when it does go down it usually isn't for very long,of course where i live at there isn't any cable options,I'm out in the sticks

all the TV providers are going to argue about the price until the very last minute and it wouldn't surprise me if some go past the opening game

I'm not going to change just because there bickering about it,they will pick it up sooner or later,i will just go to a friends house to watch it till they pick it up,or hopefully find a stream on here :)

Got DirecTV too. If they don't carry it, doesn't bother me much. I've been able to access Vols games online for while now. I'm in the sticks too. Very heavy rains knock out the reception but as you said, it usually comes back shortly. However, sometimes lightning has a party in my backyard and it goes out longer. I have yet to figure what lightning is hitting out there. No clumps of trees. Maybe there are metal pipes underground--scary, very scary stuff.

I've got multiple tvs and wifi devices running with U-Verse and it isn't a problem. It all depends on how the service is hooked up. U-Verse cable boxes have the ability to connect through ethernet cable rather than regular coax, if your house is wired with ethernet of course. This is when most network problems arise, OR if you are planning on using U-Verse's new wireless cable boxes.

Uverse TV isn't available in Knoxville. At least where I live. Only internet. :hmm:

It's been available for several years it just depends on the street you live on. My sister lives in a newer neighborhood literally about a half mile away and her only option is Charter.

I may end up switching to Comcast if they could get a better DVR system in place. I'm liking the 5 Tuner DVR from DirecTV. It's great for recording several games at once. As far as I know, Comcast only has the 1 with 2 tuners. I could get two DVRs but then I would incur extra charges as well.

U-Verse has any room DVR so you can watch whatever is recorded on the main DVR in any room. As well their DVR can record 3 different channels at once. I forget how many any room boxes they give up front but additional ones are extra oer month like most other services.

they will have to add the sec network or risk losing most of their customers. including stupid charter communications. which is absolutely horrible. the only reason to even have cable is tennessee football otherwise i plan to do without it. got movies and tv shows to watch over and over and netflix and hulu.

I have Uverse for internet and Direct for tv. I bundled these through Direct.

Uverse is not available for my neighbors that live across the street.

Dish, not Direct, I misspoke. But the Dish deal hasn't been announced formally yet.

Like I've said several times before, I wouldn't worry too much about it right now, most of the deals won't be done with cable companies until late summer, just before the network's launch.

I dont see how the major carriers can pass on the SEC Network. I would think they are simply holding out as long as they can to get the best possible deal.

OK thanks DP -- Comcast has 5 months --- clock is ticking --- got Dishnet number ready in case
