I will NEVER understand Holly's incompetence when it come to calling timeouts. It's truly baffling. And it hasn't gotten better at all to this point since she became HC.

The Big 3 just shot it to poorly today to beat a really good team. Our effort was great again. I feel good about this team, but Nared, Diamond, & Russell can't all have a bad shooting night (I do not think that will happen a lot).

She's a sorry shooter. I don't care what she has done so far this year. Reynolds shot 3s at a decent % for the majority of her freshman year. She's still a bad shooter.

Unforced turnovers and no bench contribution cost us the game.Middleton 4th poor game in a row.I posted that bench would have to come thru to win today and they did not.The bench had to play in 2nd qtr and with Middleton running the point and Nared out of the game ,there was no offense ...they went into 2nd qtr leading by one and were behind by 7 at the half....then it was a long time to dig themselves out of the hole that the bench dug and in the end just could not get over the hump.

Miss State just may be better than Baylor so that was a good team they played today and coaching did not lose this game.Dumb plays did .

Good teams come into OUR place and dominate in crucial situations! Blair Schaffer, the coaches daughter, will throw it up and, hits more than air, in doing so...string music. We couldn't hit the ocean standing on the beach from beyond the arc!

The players that killed us today were mostly their bench players. Their point guard was the only starter that played well for them.

Stats can be manipulated into whatever agenda anyone wants to push. Dunbar is 9/39 on the year. Does that make MeMe a better shooter than her? But stats by themselves don't take into account her injury.

Alexa is 46% on the year. Still not a great shooter. Much better than MeMe, though.

Very good assessment. I would add that it will always be difficult to compensate for terrible shooting and bad plays with tough defense and rebounding against a good team.

Onward we go need to win on the road at Ole Miss season going to be a struggle to get to the NCAA tourney think we need eight more wins.
Ole Miss a lot better than they've been in a while will need to play a lot better than we did today.

I only watched the last 12 minutes or so of the game, sleeping off a terrible headache and pain from a bad fall yesterday.

did KD get even a second of game time?

Vivian's had 20 pts and 5 steals. She's always a threat.

Miss State is a better team, so I'm not surprised that they lost. They were competitive, but undone by poor possession management. If you don't run an offense, you will struggle to score against a tough defensive team like MS.

Another thing I'll add is that Miss. St. seemed to get a lot of their buckets when a play broke down and there was chaos on the court - often after we'd made some sort of nice defensive play! - but then couldn't recover in time to find their open player(s). Not sure if this is typical MSU ball and what we could do better in those situations, but it happened a lot.

It's hard to believe that we actually had a chance to win this game with 2.30 or whatever it was left. We were absolutely terrible offensively in the last three quarters--looked like last year. Only the fact that Miss. State was called for a ton of fouls kept us in it--we've got 30 points from the line. And, fans, Miss. State is not that good: Vivians is an outstanding athlete with skills--but she's like DD--misses a ton of shots. They've got a big center who's not bad, but other than they don't seem special. They do play hard and are better coached than we are. You don't have to be a genius to out-coach our staff--let's just say that. In terms of prospect talent on the floor, we had more of it--but our coaching is awful. This was a vivid example of why will never win anything.

We didn't have a single three-point shot in this game (unless it came in the last 20 seconds). You can't beat a solid/good team without making some treys. DD played hard, made some plays defensively, scored some points, but she was not good: Again, erratic; again, too many missed shots, and was really lucky not to be called for at least one charge. Nared was horrible--tried to do too much, forced shots, missed shots. Our offense from the midway point of the 2nd period on was a joke--basically DD and Nared throwing up a lot of contested or off-balance shots. Did not get enough out of Reynolds, as usual. Warlick should have given Russell a blow in the first half--don't think she did--and she got tired and that was a big reason Miss. state rallied at the end of the first half. Poor game management. Nunn should be playing FOR Russell, not with her. Yea, we're strong inside with both on the floor--but Russell needs some rest. An ugly game all around.

MSST is not better than Baylor. Not even close. Baylor has played six ranked teams and beaten five of them -- and they beat them all rather convincingly. Their only loss on the season is a close loss at UConn. MSST has played one ranked team on the season and beaten them: a horribly underachieving Texas team. I really think Baylor would win by double digits if they played MSST. Alexis Jones is much better than Vivians (not even close) and their inside game would be more than enough to match the big girl from MSST.

If MSST were as good as Baylor this game would've have been as close as what it was.
