Great news from Florida

I read the letter. I don't think the Gator Nation will buy this snake oil but I hope they do.

He is in a tough spot starting a 3rd string, raw, FR QB in Warner that can only find receivers 30% or the time or Lagway with a hamstring issue who wants to play BEFORE he is healed ... wow talk about a recipe for disaster!!!

That’s why I said next year, not this one. He’ll go into 2025 with experience, having already taken lumps that Nico had not taken heading into this year.

Lagway was the #1 QB recruit in the 2024 class for a reason. He’s oozing raw talent. It won’t be so raw next year.

Top QB recruits fail all the time. A lot of it is the system you're in. It's why Bo Nix was trash at Auburn and Heisman candidate at Oregon.

Here's the letter. He'll be gone soon. That's how this usually goes:

Gator Nation,

I wanted to let you know that Billy Napier will continue as head football coach of the Florida Gators.

As we’ve seen these past several weeks, the young men on this team represent what it means to be a Gator. Their resolve, effort and execution are evident in their performance and growth each week – building a foundation that promises greater success next season and beyond.

UF’s commitment to excellence and a championship-caliber program is unwavering. In these times of change across college athletics, we are dedicated to a disciplined, stable approach that is focused on long-term, sustained success for Gator athletes, recruits and fans.

I am confident that Billy will meet the challenges and opportunities ahead. We will work alongside him to support any changes needed to elevate Gator football. As college athletics evolves, UF is committed to embracing innovation and strategy, ensuring the Gators thrive in today’s competitive landscape.

Gator Nation has remained strong, showing up game after game to stand with our team. This loyalty creates an incredible environment that inspires our players to compete with heart and determination. Now, I call on all of Gator Nation to continue standing behind Billy and his dedicated team while we work together to build a championship program.

Go Gators!

Yep. Writing is on the wall. After they lose the next 3 they’ll pull the plug.

I am counting it as a W cause I ain't a wuss. Scared fans like you make no sense to me.
Your lack of intelligence is concerning. Research the history of TN vs Florida from 1992 present. TN has won only twice in the Swamp in that time frame - 2001 and 2003.

We rarely play well vs. Florida, inc. this yr.

Now if he can just get an extension

Billy Napier to continue coaching Florida football, AD says

Billy Napier will continue to coach Florida, according to athletic director Scott Stricklin, who put to rest rampant speculation about the embattled coach's future with the Gators.
In a letter Thursday, Stricklin stressed the need for a "disciplined, stable approach" and asked Florida fans to "continue standing behind Billy and his dedicated team while we work together to build a championship program
Lies all lies!

They do.

I don’t think he will. He’s going to be very good next year.

Loser mentality. That sort of mindset guarantees you'll never beat Florida.

Wait…we have to play against Florida? Holy hell, I’m not in any kind of shape to play a football game against SEC athletes! We’re gonna get hurt! What position am I playing?!

I mean, you’re not a wuss, so you’ll be okay. But the rest of us are screwed!

And your lack of confidence is why we'll continue to lose. The players and coaches play tight against Florida because of negative energy from fans like you. If you want us to finally beat them in Gainesville exude some confidence.

Doubt Lagway will ride it out at Florida. No guarantees the Gators even make a bowl. Texas will probably help shorten Napier's tenure..

Seriously? A fan’s opinion on a message board impacts a team’s performance & outcome of a game?

I don’t know about that.

Every year Tennessee fans have amnesia until the Florida game starts.

It’s the players that need the amnesia and to just go out and play.

This is as dumb as you saying a players looks has something to do with their success on the field. If our players and coaches are so fickle and weak willed that negative energy from the fans affect their on field play then that’s pathetic.

lol. You think a fans mindset has anything to do with the actual game? Laughable. Do you even remember the last time we beat UF in Gainesville?
No. He's already admitted he's a fair weather fan. His sunshine pumping I don't care about, it's him openly admitting he's the worst kinda fan, that I can't stand.

Everyone has a voice now thanks to social media. And you're not the only Tennessee fan with this mentality against Florida. Every year when Florida week is upon us this sentiment rears it's ugly head. And not just from weak fans like yourself. The media that covers Tennessee does the same thing.

The players and coaches hear it. And given how we continue to play worse against bad Florida teams than even good Alabama teams you can't say this negative noise from the fans isn't having an effect.
