Unlikely scenerio, but Hart rehires Bruce and Bruce gets in hot water with the NCAA again!!!!!

Now Hart doesn't look like a Hero for hiring Bruce, his job will be in jeopardy!!!!!!!!!!!!

People can name 5 coaches better than Pearl, but who is really going to come to UT out of those 5? Probably 0.

And for those asking if Pearl could have the same success as before. Maybe, maybe not, but it sure as hell can't be any worse than what we've seen the last 3 years. I'd take my chances on a Pearl who has had 3 years to recharge his batteries and be thankful for a second chance. He's won everywhere he has been. There is no reason to think he won't win again.

Exactly, 99. As an alum and donor, it is frustrating. IMO, if the Administration is against it and fails to make a concerted effort to consider it objectively, then it boils down to their ego, power and personal prejudices. CBP screwed up and was punished very harshly for his actions. His sentence will be complete in August 2014.

From a pure business perspective it should be a no-brainer for Tennessee. I think a risk/reward analysis would support the risk. CBP has the right mix of coaching ability, marketing acumen, connection with students and alumni, community involvement and an apparent love for the school and East Tennessee area.

I think if they do let CCM go and they hire CBP, Tennessee will get a lot of positive publicity. I doubt that ESPN will slam Pearl after they have had the opportunity to work with him for these past years.

With our admin leading the way, I have zero confidence that they would find someone better than Pearl. Marshall has been passed over twice. If you read the tea leaves, he was none too pleased. He wouldn't give UT the time of day the next go around. We would hire yet another mid-major and take a leap of faith. That really has worked out for us in the past.

Here's a plan....let's wait until Hart actually hires a basketball coach before we say he won't spend money on a coach since he's never had to do that? I dono...sounds legit?

I plan on doing this also and being very specific with how I would change in regards to the mens basketball program. Season tickets aren't feasible for me but this year I am only going to one game. If Bruce is back I would definitely look to go to 4 or more. I would also donate to the department the day his hire was announced. My contribution wouldn't be anything grand but if a large number of fans also behave this way then it really makes a difference.

I didn't hear the comments either, but I heard his comments while Bruce was here. He tried every way in the world to bash Bruce. I don't know if what he said this morning is true, but I can tell you Mickey has been full of crap in the past.

I just find it laughable because he has called CBP a cheater for committing secondary violations yet when other UT coaches have committed secondary violations (some in very recent memory) he would not dare to call them cheaters.

if they run the programs like a business then BBB is a no-brainer - I gave up my season tickets when UT fired Pearl - I would be first in line if they hire him back.

Having CCM was essentially, for Tennessee basketball, being on probation for the last three years. Bruce Pearl AND Tennesee Hoops have both learned a valuable lesson to be sure.
