My point was, it's ridiculous when people say "Well, he gets a free education" so.......
It's FAR from free.
So if a college student who works 3rd shift stocking trucks for UPS absolutely sucks at his job and constantly messes up, he can't be told he sucks either because he's using that money to pay for school?
Can't have it both ways.
I had my school paid for completely, and I never once felt like it was anything but free.

Where is this (available for the world to see) message board for sucky UPS truck stockers where I can trash him for his lack of effort? (which I of course will do anonymously).
My school was also paid for and at that time in my life never thought of it as a job either. I do remember that it was a huge time commitment though. The "he has a free education" line is just another way for message board posters to justify their actions on these boards though and it isn't a "free ride" as some choose to convince themselves.
I got to travel across the entire Southeast in either a luxury bus or by plane. Same as RW. I got to play a game and get my school paid for. Same as RW.
It damn well was a free ride for me. And it's a free ride for RW.

No. A free ride would be getting your schooling paid for without having to give anything in return. (there's your setup for a RW joke, we'll see if you're mature enough to hold back.)
I'm pretty sure it's not a secret that athletes in the revenue sports at BCS conference schools get a great deal of scrutiny. If Woolridge was going to be unable to handle that, I'm sure Pepperdine or Riverside would have had a spot for him.Where is this (available for the world to see) message board for sucky UPS truck stockers where I can trash him for his lack of effort? Playing a sport you love sure as Hell beats working my arse off to pay for an education.
Spin it all you want, but his education is free.

I"m spinning it??? Now that's funny.
So what you're saying is that the Univ of Tenn pays for his education and all he has to do is go to class?
He gets to live out a dream of thousands.
You act like he's out digging a damn ditch.

I would have absolutely hated to play SEC division 1 basketball in front of 20,000 people every night. What a nightmare.
No, I'm making a very simple point. One that is either flying way over your head or that you just don't have it in you to not take the opposite side in a discussion. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and taking the latter.
