I wouldn't require people to know how to field strip a gun before they can pass laws about guns, but they need a real understanding of guns, and not rely on making up words to fit their agenda.

For the car analogy it would be like lawmakers making it illegal to own cars that CAN go faster than the speed limit. they don't understand that pretty much every car but some real old/real bad cars CAN go over the speed limit. if they had a functional knowledge of what they were trying to fix/write laws about they wouldn't craft laws that presented the above scenario to law abiding citizens.

its hard to take someone seriously when they have to make up gibberish to have a point.

All lawmakers really need to know before passing gun laws is the definition of infringed. Once they have that one simple task mastered then they are qualified.

ATF’s website that is used to apply for class III weapons has apparently been down all week. They’ve provided no updates either as to a timeframe

Interesting. I got one last year and other than the 7-ish month wait, no issues. I'll check with my guy in LC next time I stop in.
