Found online:Surge of illegal homemade machine guns has helped fuel gun violence in the US
Machine guns have been tightly regulated in the U.S. since the bloody violence of Prohibition-era gangsters like Al Caponeabcnews.go.com
Bang, Bang, Bang
I have a gun, you have a gun, kids too, darn nigh everybody got one.
A toddler found one carelessly placed on a coffee table;
BANG! Poor child ended up shooting himself in the navel.
Get a firearm and the blessing of a gun rights Republican.
So it's bang, bang, bang!
Go shopping, movie-watching, jogging, walking or just sitting and talking;
No matter where you go, doesn't matter what you do, doesn't matter who;
BANG! BANG! Some gun-totting jerk shows up to send a bullet hunting you.
Serious efforts to limit killers' gun access leads to further balking.
So it's bang, bang, bang!
Whether a Glock, a 38, a 357, or a Colt AR-15;
Doesn't matter what gun fires the thing, a bullet is a bullet still.
The caliber is of no consequence, all can wound, maim or kill.
So the shootings keep going on and on, with virtually no end seen.
So it's bang, bang, bang!
Some states now say you don't need a license to pack your heat.
Open-carry, conceal-carry, you decide it's your choice.
Dead kids and other innocents didn't and won't have a voice.
So daily now reports of new shootings and new dead meat.
So it's bang, bang, bang!
You don't have to be in a criminal gang to shoot or get shot.
Just be black and male during a traffic stop;
To be murdered for a trivial cause by a cop.
Oh man, You can even get gunned down in a Walmart parking lot.
So it's bang, bang, bang!
Momma driving leisurely down the freeway;
A punk-loaded car cuts her off at 8:35 in the morn.
Thugs in the car go postal when she honks the horn;
Unload a hail of slugs and kills her baby.
So it's bang, bang, bang!
You're enjoying the day at home;
With family, friends or alone.
You know, just chilling, being mellow.
Somebody fires at you through the window.
So it's bang, bang, bang!
I have a gun, you have a gun, kids too, darn nigh everybody got one.
BANG!
That won't work, bub. Back in the day, there was a Sunday paper comics strip called Rick O'Shay. His son Quaid remarked to the character Hipshot Percussion how predator eyes faced forward, and prey eyes were to the sides of their heads. Making the preds killers and... Then the boy stopped, eyes wide, and said, "People's eyes are..." Hipshot interceded and said, "That's right, boy." So, amend the gun laws? Wonderful idea. Only problem is, history shows people like to kill. And even more so these days. So they keep doing it.Don’t like it .. amend it . Simple

Onelilreb, I too grew up with guns. Very much experienced the same as you describe. The problem is, human lust for killing has evolved more and more beyond hunting, war, and self-defense into incomparable stupidity. It's manifested in the violence focused video games. In daily shootings, targeting innocents such as school kids, shoppers. In murdering cinema customers, people sitting on their porch bothering nobody, and our society literally encouraging production and purchase of guns designed to kill as many people as quickly as possible. So as long as society and nitwit government officials refuse to recognize people have devolved into creatures who kill to just kill, all that will happen is whining about it, denying that guns are a problem. Rationalizing lax laws, not taking action against the increasing casualties. In our America, we lack both the will and guts to do what nations like Norway, Japan, Canada, Australia, England, South Africa, Denmark, France, and others do. Does it stop killings 100%? No, but it darn sure doesn't have the body count we have in the USA. And so:
Whether The People be led by The Lord,
Or lured by the loudest throat:
If it be quicker to die by the sword
Or cheaper to die by vote
Holy State or Holy King
Or Holy People's Will
Have no truck with the senseless thing.
Order the guns and kill!
My 8th grade year - '73-'74 - Meigs - Nashville - there were two shootings during the year on school grounds.I was born in the late 60’s grew up around guns in the 70’s ( every adult had one every kid was learning how to shoot them ) went to high school in the 80’s , they were easier to get them fir everybody even ordering them out of a catalog , hardware store , basically open flea markets , almost every truck in my high school parking lot had a rifle / shotgun in the window rack and mostly likely a pistol under the seat . Zero school shoots , never knew anyone that got shot except from the news ( Memphis ) . Stop blaming the tools and start trying to fix the real problem .. the people holding the firearm .
I won't contest your claim that how you teach kids is a major factor. To me, that indisputable. The problem is, these days, the parents, too many anyway, their ethnics regardless, are unfit parents. Their behavior within and without the family structure models violence, whether it's spouse violence, Karen women, bigots acting on their true impulses, and just basically the Me, Me, mindset in society these days. Further, the teaching concept you mention is more than just nice, it's the truth. Sadly, it doesn't fit reality as a one size fits all. On account, it is a strong family with strong male role models to teach young men how to handle themselves who commit the majority of the mass killings. But never mind, I've been on this forum and a few others to know when it comes to politics, gun control, and much more that: East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet. Was cool talking with you just the same. And this why the gun control issue will get worse, but never better, until, unless, those who yell loudest against are touched HARD, very HARD by gun-mongers. Or when the chickens come home roost.Again it’s not a tool problem and you left out the most important part a strong family with strong male role models to teach young men how to handle themselves . We would go to open flea markets once a month ( first Monday , Riply Ms ) where there were all models of firearms from pistols to shot guns to rifles laying side by side on tables in every row you went down . Kids running around , men women looking at everything for sale . I never once heard of a firearm incident. When you don’t teach kids right from wrong they always choose the easy path . When boys don’t have strong men to teach them how to control that testosterone and rage we end up where we are now . Firearms are not the problem , never has been .

Whether the State can loose and bind
In Heaven as well as on Earth:
If it be wiser to kill mankind
Before or after the birth
These are matters of high concern
Where State-kept schoolmen are;
But Holy State (we have lived to learn)
Endeth in Holy War.
Have no truck with the senseless thing.
Order the guns and kill!
Hello, hog, still wallowing in the mudhole, I see. Cause you know dayum well your MAGA-liars will block any effort to change gun laws, whether via the Constitution or anything else. Stop pulling lies out your rear southern end, they smell already.You want stricter gun control, work on changing the constitution. Otherwise STFU.

We have a constitution. It tells you how to make changes if you don't like it. Go shat in your hat or go about the legal porcess of making what you want to happen.How do you suggest we fix the "people" problem, Mr. Gun? Can we wave a magic wand and fix all the troubled souls in
America? Will that work? Do have any freakin' idea how many people in America have mental issues of one kind or another?
I'm sure you don't; otherwise, you wouldn't have posted what you did. How about millions? Do you realize that most of the people
who kill with guns, including mass shooters, would be called by people like "responsible gun owners" before they started shooting?
The guy who murdered 67 people in Las Vegas--with a variety of assault rifles--and wounded some 200 others--would have been
called by you a "responsible gun owner" the day before he opened fire on a concert crowd.
There is no fixing millions of people with mental issues--though I certainly support efforts to improve access to mental-health treatments.
What you freakin' DON'T do in a country chock full of mentally troubled people is making it very easy to buy guns. And your sure as hell
don't sell assault rifles--which is might be the most outrageously irresponsible and stupid thing ever done in this country. Unfortunately, we
have a lot of pathetically craven conservative/GOP politicians in this country who would rather jeopardize public health in American than
jeopardize their own cushy congressional jobs. FACT.

Are you suggesting that we institute mandatory background checks for even law-abiding Americans and make assault rifles almost impossible to purchase?What you freakin' DON'T do in a country chock full of mentally troubled people is making it very easy to buy guns. And your sure as hell

My 11th grade year - '76-'77 - Stratford - Nashville - a guy in my LA class was shot and killed during a drug deal.
Just a quick drive by.....thought I would use terminology to which you gun nuts could relate.Change the constitution or STFU.

It’s the only way you gun grabbers will meet your goal tho. lolJust a quick drive by.....thought I would use terminology to which you gun nuts could relate.
You do not need to change the constitution in order to have rules and regulations on firearms.
Anyone who continually lies about that being the only way should be the one to STFU.
