Swain must not know much about Malzahn.

Few stats:

In 1998, Shiloh Christian High School set a national record with 66 passing touchdowns for the season, while quarterback Josh Floyd nearly set an individual national record with 5,878 total yards (5,221 passing, 657 rushing).

Malzahn's 2005 squad at Springdale High School went 14–0, easily won the state’s Class 5A championship, outscoring its opponents 664–118, and was ranked in the top 10 in the nation.

Malzahn was part of the Razorbacks 2006 season and was named the National Offensive Coordinator of the Year by Rivals.com. He left the program because he and Nutt didn't get along

In 2007 he went to Tulsa and ranked 1st in the nation in total yards per game,3rd in the nation in passing, and became the first team in NCAA history to have a 5,000-yard passer, a 1,000-yard rusher and three 1,000-yard receivers in a single season.

In 2008, Tulsa was again the nation's most prolific attack, leading with nearly 7,980 total yards of offense averaging 570 yards per game, and were ranked 2nd in the nation in scoring behind Oklahoma, scoring over 47 points per game. Tulsa not only ranked 2nd in the nation in scoring that year, but finished with the 2nd highest scoring offense in the history of major college football.

All of that was well before he ever heard of Cam Newton. The dude can coach an offense

Damn I hope Hart can pull a rabbit out of his azz because Arkansas and especially Auburn just made great hires. UT is/was the best job open but right now it doesn't look like we are going to get the best available coach. Not giving up yet and I will support whoever the coach is but imo it would take someone completely off the radar to top these two. Malzhan is a great coach and was smart enough to distance himself from Chizik. Auburn will be back in the top third of the SEC next year.

Why are people freaking out like we "missed out" on Bielema and Gus Malzahn? If that's who you wanted, you have got to be kidding me.

He won a national championship at Auburn. Chizik surely didn't do it--Auburn plummeted when he left. Malzahn wins everywhere he goes. He makes players look better than they really are. If we can't have Gruden, I like Malzahn a lot.

I guess their defense was chopped liver that year too? Remember Nick Farley? or whatever his last name is. They kinda beat oregon up.
