What say ye?

Until they let Charlie Hustle in...it is hard for me to participate in such discussion.

I agree. The HOF is similar to the 'AA to me. Ran by clowns who think they're more important than they actually are.

Yep...I find baseball writers to be the most irritating in the business. I hold them as responsible for the steroid mess as I do Bud Selig.

Agree. Everyone knew. They reaped the same benefits that they now rip the league and players for.

If there is one that jumps out at me besides Pete. Dick Allen!

Andy Pettitte will be a hot topic the next few years too. Had tremendous postseason success, yet never won a Cy Young and also was never even the best pitcher on his team.

60 wins shy of an automatic bid to enshrinement. Very comparable to Jack Morris.

I would put Dale Murphy on the snub list as well but I understand the argument.

He was as dominant as there was for a 6 year span or so. He's a victim of the didn't enjoy the long enough career garbage that is such a selling point to the writers.

If you put his numbers up in that time frame against current hall of famers, he's definitely got a strong argument.

Pujols, first ballot. I also agree with everyone's comments about Rose. The HOF is not worth discussing if he doesn't ever get in, imo.

Maddux- first ballot
Glavine- first ballot
Clemens shoul most definitely be in.
Bonds- most definitely
Barry Larkin should have been in the previous class, but will be in the next one.
Pujols should be a first ballot guy.

I agree with your list. Do you put in McGwire and A Rod?

I think so. Being the only pitcher in history with more than 200 wins and more than 150 saves has to account fo something. Dude was flat out dominant for a number of years.

I still say if I absoultely have to have a win in a World Series game, in his prime he's the guy I call on.

Griffey should also be first ballot when his time comes.

Don Mattingly. Compare their stats and explain how Kirby Puckett is in the Hall and Donnie Baseball is not.
