Hat Crimes

They are stupid to believe that.
Yes. Some of them are 100% stupid for believing it. The more dangerous ones are the devious bastards formulating the stupid connection and feeding it to their idiot followers and prompting the violence against peaceful law abiding citizens exercising their right of free speech. It is ridiculous intolerance.

I don't know why other people care so much what other people are wearing. If mob mentality starts being the deciding factor in what people can and cannot wear then we are in for some troubling times ahead.
When has mob mentality ever NOT ultimately been the deciding factor?

Nobody should be running a great risk for wearing a damn political slogan hat. Letโ€™s go back in time and harass every damn Obama/Biden hat wearer in 2012 or Hillary hat wearer in 2016. They have a right to their free speech. Just like the MAGA hat wearers do today.
It's not the same and never was. You guys persist in rejecting the truth that Trump is an anomaly unlike any other.

He is and always will be seen that way; I believe increasingly so.

It is EXACTLY the same and you are being disingenuous or flat out lying.

Obviously, people harassing and acting violent towards others for their attire are the real issue, but I don't get why anybody would wear a MAGA hat. I don't get putting any politician's bumper sticker on your car, let alone going with the symbol of the biggest provocateur ever. Yeah, much about Trump is misunderstood, but that doesn't make wearing the hat a smart decision. Much about the confederacy is misunderstood, so normal people stopped waving confederate flags. It's like talking back to the police. You have a right to do it, you're not wrong for doing it, but you're running a great risk of having an unpleasant ending.
Same go for Obama apparel or any other political clothing?

When violence over apparel starts to become accepted in a "I'm not saying they should have done it...but I understand." scenario by a larger political group one can envision bad things not far down that path.

Of course not, it's not inflammatory.
You cannot compare others to Trump. Trump is a brand, a symbol....he's worked his entire career to that end. Compare him to other symbols. Many people voted for him for exactly that reason. That's the way he chose to run his campaign, that's the way he runs his presidency.

That vision should have been clear on Nov. 8th, 2016. It's what people voted for.

Fortunately you don't get to decide what's offensive to others. I find you incredibly offensive but I don't advocate for banning you. I find anything with that race baiting communist Obama on it offensive. So should anyone wearing it expect to get harrassed and assaulted? Keep showing that Nazi fascism your side is becoming known for.

I don't give a rotting rat's rectum about your assessment. Read my post again and ignore your biased context. I don't care what the apparel in question is or who is doing the violence the observation stands.
You're just trying to spray perfume on the fecal matter of you being one of the "but I understand." crowd.

I reread it 5 times. I understood what you were saying and didn't disagree. I'm not sure you understood my post. I'll reword it.
When a "Trump" becomes accepted in a "I know he's scum and a horrible person...... but they all are" scenario by a large political group one should envision bad things not far down that path.

Then every effort should be taken by anyone and everyone that isn't one of "those people" to do away with any degree of acceptance for violence over hats, shirts, etc. No "but...it's Trump" loopholes. Anyone even giving lip service to the "but I understand" POV is greasing the rails for that bad things down the path we've both now cited.

Utterly fascinating thread. (kind of sad I felt it necessary to add the blue font)

You guys do realize the MAGA red hat is quickly becoming the new rebel flag.

I honestly feel like i can say this literally without a single ounce of hyperbole....

That is probably the dumbest thing I've ever seen said on the internet.
