Convenient? What in the hell is convenient about any of this? They stopped the end of mankind, and it cost them everything. In the end there can he only one. I do not understand this gripe...at all.I didn’t mean that it was (or easy) in that way. I meant that it seems a simple solution on the part of the writers. It removes that third party from the struggles, leaving only Cersei vs Danny/Jon/remaining allies.
Edit to add: a better word would be convenient, as supplied by bigdaddy above.
Bran saw him force them to do that when he warged the ravens. That is what he was doing with his hand, not reaching for Bran.Wights are like berserker Vikings...ferocious and full ahead. When they gave up their bodies to bridge the fire moat, that was from their White Walker lords...or the NK himself.
Yeah...if this was real life...they should have, but it's not, and it's just for emotional impact.I’ve played enough Empire Total War and Medieval Total War to know that you don’t send light calvary in a head on change against heavy infantry. They should used the Dothraki as a screening force and then when they had found out where the Night Kings forces were they should have reported back, went into the castle, dismounted their horses and manned the walls.
I’m talking about how a work of fiction is crafted, that’s all. Not trying to argue.Convenient? What in the hell is convenient about any of this? They stopped the end of mankind, and it cost them everything. In the end there can he only one. I do not understand this gripe...at all.
No...but you want to able to buy that somebody has a clue. Instead of basically driving your most valuable military asset off a cliff, how about park Jon and the smaller dragon on the gates and incinerate anything that approaches?I'm talking from the artistic persective, this is not a military channel documentary on strategic battles. I never expect it to be that.
I was also kind of surprised that they locked the two smartest characters in the show (Tyrion and Sansa) in a crypt during the WW attack and neither one of them realized all the dead bodies could be brought back to life before it happens. Would have been a cool scene if it dawned on them during the beginning of the battle and they were scrambling trying to come up with a solution.
agreed. but that'd be a pretty boring show. lol.No...but you want to able to buy that somebody has a clue. Instead of basically driving your most valuable military asset off a cliff, how about park Jon and the smaller dragon on the gates and incinerate anything that approaches?
Yeah I didnt like that either. it would have been just as "wtf" if they were just pounding away. Who cares if some extras die. Now if Messendie or however you spell it, died. then Ok. I cant recall anyone recognizable dying. I'm in the middle of watching it now so maybe I'll see something different.Yeah, the theory that only corpses killed by WWs/wights can be resurrected was disproven last night. Also, that scene was a bit nonsensical because the wight they took to King's Landing couldn't even break through a wooden box, but the ancient ones in the Stark crypt were bursting through stone.
The military strategy was bad. lol. They should have consulted better on that one.agreed. but that'd be a pretty boring show. lol.
i never understood the strategy of having both dragons off the front line and just hanging out with Bran. i get it, bran is important.
but good grief....i don't disagree with any of the strategy holes that have been discussed. it was a poorly thought out plan, and execuuted even worse.
that said, it made for a much more enteraining show the way they did it...which is all i cared about lol.....
Entertained the vast majority of the episode...didn’t get anything out of the Dothraki disappearing into the night...and into a meat grinder.agreed. but that'd be a pretty boring show. lol.

it looked cool..............and the impending doom you got from watching all the flames go out was creepy......great tone setter. lol.Entertained the vast majority of the episode...didn’t get anything out of the Dothraki disappearing into the night...and into a meat grinder.
That was the effect they were going for... it built a nervous tension. They should have had a dragon leading the Dothraki charge though. Wasn't the "Loot Train attack" against the Lannister army pretty darn effective? Stick with what works, guys!it looked cool..............and the impending doom you got from watching all the flames go out was creepy......great tone setter. lol.
but, no real value as it turned out lol.
yep, that was a point of conention between Jamie and Papa Lannister if memory serves. Robb won a couple battles by being smarter than the opponent. There were hints of strategy and results. Jaime mentioned he lost a huge battle to Robb after being out smarted.
