HBO's "Game of Thrones"

Cersei death rewrite...thoughts?

The hound begs Arya to leave and she does. Cut to a scene of Jon (not Arya) as he begins walking through the city trying to save as many as he can. The mountain & hound fight and Cersei slips by, she manages to arrive to find Jaime. He leads her down into the keep. Arya steps out of the shadows before them and we have a bit of dialogue about Cersei executing Ned & how she must pay. Jaime steps in to defend Cersei and Arya (easily) defeats/kills him. Cersei breaks down watching the last person she loves get killed. Hugging Jaime on her knees as he lies on the ground, she finally begins to scream at Arya and threaten her. Arya cuts her throat and we see the rocks begin to come down, Arya attempts to exit and we never see her free of the rubble.

Open the next episode with Arya exiting the keep rubble, still alive but battered. Instead of Tyrion walking through the city in the finale to find Cersei it's Arya walking out of the city (seeing all the death for herself) as she makes her way to the steps to see Dany's big moment.

Off topic, but if you folks could take a look at this and cross post for exposure.

Y'all know I never ask for anything. This guy is an American dream family man and somewhat pillar figure of the community. He has two great kids and a saint of a wife. He's been like a second dad to me and I've tapped out my disposable income for the past two months in private helping him out. I'd really appreciate if Volnation could throw a little help towards a native son.

I'll probably make a thread in the pub because I've seen great things happen there.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Just add the VolNation tag to your donation because I gave them heads up that I'd bring some cheddar in for the cause.

Actually, last night just confirmed who the real king of shows still is:

I found the gif you meant to post:

had a contraversial ending, and it had its ups and downs as well. still, great show.
Don't get me wrong, I love them both. BB and the Sopranos are in an entirely different league.

Should have had Vince Gilligan write the final season of GOT, everything that guy creates is amazing.

true, but we already knew the ending as far as ani/vader. and don't we all want more vader anyway? lol.

and star was is another tragic story. just has a way mor palatable presentation and ending.

and in the end, those episodes 1-3 Lucas gave us were just flat terrible. all cgi, no writing, no acting. the only thing those movies had going for it was the star wars story line. so we watched it, criticisized it, and moved on.

there were things about the last two movies i didn't like, but i was entertained. and i still appreciate the overall story.

i feel basically the same way about GOT. it was a fanstastic story....with a "tidy" ending. dont' think it was great. don't think it was bad. enjoyed the 7.6 of 8 seasons....
I loved parts, and hated parts of both in equal portion..the end will always leave a very bitter taste in my mouth. The R+L=J, Azor Ahai, Prince that was Promised thing is the biggest red herring, come to absolute nothing piece of garbage bait and switch storytelling ever.

I think my problem with the finale is that it felt emotionless. I don't know, I was just kind of like "oh, this is happening now, okay." It felt a little too "tidy" of an ending for GOT.

Another thought I had last night is that I felt like I've seen the ending before:
Sansa=Sam
Jon=Gandalf
Arya=Frodo

Emilia Clarke on how it ended:

"After 10 years of working on this show, it’s logical. Where else can she go? I tried to think what the ending will be. It’s not like she’s suddenly going to go, ‘Okay, I’m gonna put a kettle on and put cookies in the oven and we’ll just sit down and have a lovely time and pop a few kids out.’ That was never going to happen. She’s a Targaryen. But having said all of the things I’ve just said… I stand by Daenerys. I stand by her! I can’t not."
